Then the scheme is too complex.
It's the coaches responsibility to make it so the kids aren't having to over think everything. If only two LBs on your entire roster can grasp the concepts and schemes WTF are you coaching? These kids have played Backer their entire lives, now they don't get it... smh

Troubling too because Shoop told the SEC Network crew they were keeping it as basic as he could this week.

Garbage is strong but I don't believe we looked very good either.

I think that I still don't know anything about our defense. I really don't see how anyone could think more than that.

We have played two weird offenses. One game was horrible-- but mostly because of the amount of snaps the D took--, and the other we put us good numbers, but the other team was vastly out talented.

Anyone that has made up their mind at this point-- either way-- just wants to make up their mind. AKA- "The staff can do no wrong" people or "The staff can do no right" people

so we moved back two spots because we won a game by 35? these things never make sense lol

Well, Washington State was ranked #22 last week and they hold their position this week. We got bumped down from one above them to one below them because the coaches wanted to make room for TCU which was unranked before Saturday and entered the poll at #20 this week. South Florida fell to #21 from #20 and everyone else above South Florida & Washington State remained in the top 20 along with the addition of TCU at #20. We weren't so much penalized; we were ranked over, sort of like being recruited over. I want to blame the defense but then there's that story of the miracle comeback by WSU from 21 down with only 8 min on the clock in the "Backup QB Bowl" and of course TCU embarrassed an SEC west team. We haven't beaten an SEC west team in 7 years? Is that right? 2010 Ole Miss was the last time?

I guess Washington State had a "better narrative" than we did for this past week so they didn't slide.

Tennessee #23 in AP poll too. Ahead of Florida. With all these teams quickly moving unranked to ahead of us by beating other unranked teams. WHEN we beat Florida, how far will we jump?!

Ok, let me change my wording. The defense has not shown a lot of promise to this point

I think quite a few players have shown good promise on defense. It's just will they get the chance to play. I want to see this lineup:

DE: Phillips
DT: Tuttle
DT: McKenzie
DE: Taylor
LB: McDowell
LB: Bituli
NB: Gaulden
CB: Abernathy
SS: Warrior
FS: Kelly
CB: Osborne

Haven't made up my mind about anything. Just don't believe we've looked sharp so far and it is worrisome.

The flexbone is different for sure but Ga Tech isn't lighting up defenses on a weekly basis. It can be slowed down.

Fireable offense imo. He's supposed to be a professional representing the same university CBJ does not a fan.

That's what I like about Tim. He calls it like he sees it and he's a Tennessee man through and through. Tim is about the only good thing about that broadcast team. Kesling sucks.

Fireable offense Bc someone sees the same **** every other competent human sees. 🤷🏾*♂️

I did not expect to here that from A Vol network employee but man you can hear the frustration

What's the point of playing cupcakes like Indiana state if we play our starters all game? Personally, I'd rather just play another P5 team. And why do we hold everything back, how do we expect our LB's to learn our supposedly complex defense if we only run cover 1 and cover 3. It doesn't make any sense
