HBO's "Game of Thrones"

I'm trying to recall the timing, but didn't he bug out just before the Faith Militant took off? If he'd stayed in KL through that with his background, Septa Unella would've made him her beeotch.

There have been points where Varys and LF seemed to be counterbalances and I'm wondering if Varys may be next because he won't be able to help himself playing the game even after Danarys' warning.

yeah, he did. he went up to the vail with Sansa...then to winterfell, then back to the vail....and then back to winterfell...iirc. it's been a minute since he's been in KL.

as i think about it again now...he didn't have a clue about the faith militant thing happening, rather, he probably saw the lannisters and tyrells as the power brokers, and didn't see himself fitting anywhere in that dynamic and chose to hitch his wagon to the Sansa. maybe it was sentimental because of catlyn, maybe he did really love sansa....either way, he saw that as his best play......

Not yuck. He was the man who started the entire motion of the plot. He's less of a coward and more of a grand strategist. Hell, if he hadn't walked into Bran literally being able to see anything in time and Arya being trained to be a female Hitman 47 with a built in lie detector he would've most likely would've been just fine in the end.

And it would've been far more chilling for the man who said "Chaos is a ladder" to recognize he was falling off it and look at the view on the way down than to scream like a child at how he almost got to the top. It felt extremely forced and thrown together.
They portrayed him as being sloppy towards the end, which is very unlike Littlefinger... I'd like to think he was a little less obvious in the book ending.

book ending has to be different

He doesn't sell Sansa to the Boltons in the books. I think he offered to marry her himself before she marries Tyrion.

Could you guys do us regular folk a solid and maybe not talk about the really obscure season 8 "leaks" in the "spoilers"? Or maybe preface it with a "SEASON 8 LEAK WARNING" ---BEFORE--- the spoiler tag? I know leaks and spoilers are one in the same, but c'mon folks! Let's not ruin the last season of the greatest goshdarn shown on Earth for everyone because you read some "leaks" online! I generally click the "spoiler" comments because I'm all read up on the books - NOT BECAUSE IM ALL READ UP ON THE SEASON 8 LEAKS...

Ok thanks for listening, Ill hang up now

oh come on. don't read it then. Nobody here should have to label a spoiler. this is ridiculous.

I don't think there are any legitimate season 8 leaks. Supposedly, they don't start filming season 8 until October. It's all in the air now. Maybe Jon will have to kill Dany, Nisa Nisa style, with Dawn or some other sword in order to slay the Night King? That would make some people freak out for sure.

Was disappointed in Littlefingers death. Not that he died, I'm sure it was inevitable, but with the manner it was done.

Dude is the biggest schemer in Westeros and they give him a 2 minute death scene.

I get Bran's ability to see everything is a game changer, but I'm hoping for a little more creativity in the book. With what we've seen in the show Bran just comes off as weird to everyone in Winterfell. Don't see why any of the lords would just instantly believe that he can see into the past. Not saying it's not possible for them to believe it, but they didn't show any of it.

Betcha Arya will probably use a Littlefinger face next season. Although I have my own small criticism with how that played out in the show also.

Greensight is something that all the Stark children have. So seeing into the past isn't a stretch for them to believe.

So I guess if some leaks are released and people start discussing it on here, then they ruin the ending of the show for others that's just... dandy?

It's the final season. Good lawd people, have some standards...

Sansa was obviously playing him at the end. She saw him push their aunt through the moon door and was understandably bitter about LF selling her to the Boltons. She had enough first hand knowledge of LF's treachery to act on her own... Bran just filled in some blanks including the revelation that LF had held a knife to Ned's throat.

So I guess if you can't help yourself but to click on a spoiler tag then you dictate what can and can't be discussed IN A SPOILER TAG.

Sorry but It's a ridiculous request.

He failed because he couldn't comprehend the concept of family and he underestimated Sansa and Arya both. He was not freaking Einstien, he was just a slimy little weasel that preyed on peoples weaknesses, he deserved to be gutted like a pig and roasted on a stake instead of the quick easy death Arya gave him. I don't understand the littledick worship, I never have.

People like chaos, and he was the master of creating it.

plus, he's just so ****ing sly that people can't help but find him awesome lol

it literally had to take magic past-seeing powers to be able to take him down.

I don't understand admiring a character who's only asset was being a smart sociopath that didn't care about anybody. He preyed on peoples trust, love and weaknesses. He was a lowlife snake that deserved a snakes death. Ned Stark was awesome, Petyr Baelish was a pathetic pile of crap.

Pretty much this. His death was perfectly in character IMO.

cause he's a damn sinister villain. i enjoy watching those type of characters.

"Admired" might be a bit of a stretch. He's an awful person. Great character though. Written and performed.
