Is there a link to the new ranking? All I can find is the old one with him at 113.
Thanks Dallas. Interesting that is the 247 Composite. On his profile, it doesn't give his composite ranking, and 247 actually still has him at 113 in their rankings. That means someone else must have him ranked significantly higher to bring his average up to 76.
Or it just means the composite is still silly and broken.

Davonte Gaines Blows Up In Pittsburgh
Super talented Buffalo wing Davonte Gaines had his coming-out party while playing with his hometown Corey Graham Elite (NY) team this past weekend. The long 6'6" lefty is a wiry wing who loves to attack the rim and stays active at all times on both ends of the floor. Also playing for New Heights (NY) on the Under Armour Association circuit, it's with his hometown team that he really gets to show off his dynamic skillset. Already holding offers from Buffalo, Canisius & Niagara, we expect his recruitment to take a high-major turn sooner than later.
I thought he committed to UT and didn't know he had to go to prep school first.
He's still planning to be a member of the 2019 class, sounds like his upcoming year is his senior season at his HS and then he will be doing a prep year at Hargrave and joining Vols as part of 2019 class. Now why that is I'm not really sure, seems odd to have that plan in place so far out, typically guys do it after their senior year if they have to straighten things out academically or want to get stronger, not sure of his reasoning.
I agree with BTO in that the timing is unusual, but there's not really any point in which going to Hargrave is a bad decision. Imo.

ERIC BOSSI: When he committed to Tennessee earlier this summer, I didn't know a lot about Buffalo (N.Y.) native Davonte Gaines. I still don't know a ton about the 6-foot-6 forward, but I did get a chance to watch him some during July and I was definitely intrigued. He's got good size for the wing, is long, looks like he can put it on the floor some and has athletic upside. I don't yet have a feel for his comfort as a shooter or playmaker but he has tools to build on and I'll be really interested to see where he is six months from now.
