Byrd did the following:
  • Stated his regret for voting against the Civil Rights
  • Hired one of the Capitols first black Aids
  • Spearheaded the passage of the law to create the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday
  • Received a 100% rating from the NAACP for having a voting record in line with their position
  • Received a 67% from the ACLU for supporting right-lead legislation

He was never a "Grand Wizard", he joined in the 1940's because it was anti-communist and stated in 2005 that "I know now I was wrong. Intolerance had no place in America. I apologized a thousand times ... and I don't mind apologizing over and over again. I can't erase what happened."

This is the guy you want to hold up as being a KKK democrat? You actually may want to check again - vet your facebook memes a little more closely.

I look at terrorism as an act planned or executed by a group of people. This appears to be a lone wolf. While I'm sure he has sympathisers within that hate group, I don't think this was a planned act of terrorism more of a response to the cluster that was unfolding between the two hate groups. Similar to the DC shooting a few weeks ago.

An extremist rallying and reacting to the counter protests in the fashion? would say that's not terror. Preplanning changes that. If this dude preplanned it, then yes terrorist. But it doesn't appear that he did.

And yet millions of other anti-communists didnt join because of the well known terrorism against black Americans.

Poor Byrd, too stupid to see what others saw but smart enough to get elected.

the reason byrd gets a pass is because he supported your fascist party. your party calls every gop a kkk member, your party calls every conservative a racist even though your party is the largest anti-Semite group in America. there really is no different from those white racist than the black and muslim racist your party supports except that they're white. if this group was Hispanic. you'd have no issues with this and all the press would be defending them.

Fair enough. Although what he did might not have been planned per se, he had a history of racism and nazi love at least according to his history teacher.

I don't know that it makes a difference whether or not any act is an act of terror or not. Somebody was murdered. The killer deserves to die also for his act, regardless of motive.

Byrd had his opportunity for salvation. I assume he is in that special place where other corrupt liars, and agonstics spend eternity.
