Charlottesville white nationalists riots

If he personally executed the grand wizard on the white house lawn the anti trumpers would demand to know if he had a permit for the gun.

That sounds like the exact opposite of his own statement that he could shoot someone in the middle of Times Square and his supporters would still support him.

Those are his own words!!!

No one fully appreciated how prophetic those words would become.

He called out the KKK, white supremacists, etc. Condemned them by name in the strongest terms.

Not enough, it will never be enough for some.

Acosta isn't even pretending to be a serious journalist anymore.

Did he? When was this? The headlines yesterday were white supremacist publications celebrating the fact that Trump did not call them out.

He called out all sides for hate. Got blamed for not focusing on one group instead of the whole.

Hate is hate. All groups need to realize this.

Here's my problem with Antifa vs KKK.

Everyone who's not a member or sympathizer of the KKK thinks they are wrong, they suck, etc.

Plenty of people seem to have fallen for the Antifa cause since it claims to be against fascism - and who wouldn't be against that. However as we've seen, they themselves are fascists who feel free to use violence to silence those who don't share their views.

So I think Antifa is more dangerous because they aren't as overt and to the casual observer the cause might seem okay. Clearly the media is soft on Antifa criticism where as they have no problem (rightfully so) going all in against the KKK.

KKK is a has been, Antifa is a bigger potential force for society to deal with IMHO.

Ignoring the appropriate definition of the word; "fascism" has always simply been a leftist code word for anything they stand against. Just a hijacked term having little relevance to the original definition - no different from their liberal use of Nazi.

How better to demonize an opponent than by labeling with a hateful word. Obviously, then, any words you may have qualify as "hate speech" and cannot be protected as "free speech" - control the message by vilifying the speaker.

You can only be an anti-fascist or anti-Nazi by being one of them, so obviously liberals define any non-leftist as a fascist, racist, Nazi ... deplorable by any of a dozen names. If you understand the concept of arguing with an idiot ... being dragged down to his level and beaten by experience; then you understand the fallacy in debating with a lib.

Yeah, I remember, the white nationalists were thrilled about it...but bham said he "condemned them by name in the strongest terms" and I'm trying to figure out if that's accurate.

it is a fair question to ask why he took so long.

The right answer is: "I felt that my comments on Saturday were appropriate and expressed my condemnation of these groups and their actions. In the next couple of days there were some who felt that my comments were not explicit enough, and so within hours of returning here to the White House I was certainly willing to elaborate further and make it clear in no uncertain terms that racial hatred from these groups is intolerable."

They knew he was going to get the question. It was blatantly obvious. He could have ignored it. But he threw in the fake news accusation just to mollify the base that he had just offended.

So frickin obvious, the whole ploy.

Another alt right white supremacist rally scheduled for Texas A & M for Sep. 11th. Texas A & M students plane to create a maroon wall as a counter protest.

http://www.cnn.com/2017/08/14/us/texas-white-nationalist-protest-trnd/index.html

White nationalists, neo-Nazis and other extremist groups plan to hold a "white lives matter" rally at Texas A&M on September 11. Richard Spencer, the white supremacist who helped found the so-called alt-right movement, will speak at the event, according to the Battalion, Texas A&M's student newspaper.

That's sort of like saying the Germans and Americans hated each other during WWII so they were equally guilty in their hate for the other.

Some hatreds are much more justifiable than others.

Yeah - not exactly a comparison to be made there.

No one made the comparison of the two. It was stated that presidents didn't start commenting on local matters until 2009.

I simply pointed out that I recalled Bush Sr. commenting on local matters.

You know it wasn't until 2009 that it became common place for a President to comment on local matters.

It's the details that get you.

Bingo. Make a false comparison. Vilify one side as evil so not a credible source. Control the message ... the correct/left side of the argument has to be on the side of the angels and always speaks truthfully.

$5 says his ~35% base of Viva Trumpers takes a hit after this.

I didn't see the press conference, after he "condemned" them did he look over at David Duke offstage?

I hope this is a joke. You honestly think denouncing white supremacists will hurt his opinion polls? **** like that is exactly what got him elected and will get him reelected.
