Charlottesville white nationalists riots

So black people are racist?

I think he was just pointing out that you can't judge racism based on volume of murders as it was suggested. Unless you're trying to also make the case that blacks hate blacks because they're black.

CNN asked President Trump why he waited the whole weekend to condemn the white nationalist groups behind the violence in Virginia. Trump dodged the question and said, “They have been condemned. They have been condemned.”
When CNN's Jim Acosta pressed why Trump wasn't having a press conference, the President said, “We had a press conference. We just had a press conference.”
Trump promised days ago that there would be a press conference at the White House today. Traditionally, a President takes reporters' questions at a press conference.
However, Trump hasn't held an official solo press conference in months. At the end of his quick photo op today, he told Acosta that he was fake news.
"I like real news, not fake news. You are fake news," Trump said.
Then he left the room.

Gawd, can somebody just impeach this guy already? He is mentally ill.

I want to see if I understand the story, I was busy this weekend and didn't have much time to catch up on it
A group of thugs had a rally
A group of thugs came to protest the other thugs' rally
An evil wacko drove a car through the second set of thugs' protest

Pretty much. A couple of fine points: the first group of thugs had a permit; the second group of thugs crashed the party knowing what would happen.

The second group of thugs are members of a larger group professing a strong belief in the freedom of speech; however they strongly oppose (frequently in the most violent of tones) anyone with a differing message.

If 1st amendment rights is what you've been told the two factions are clashing over, you need to change the channel post haste.

Here's my problem with Antifa vs KKK.

Everyone who's not a member or sympathizer of the KKK thinks they are wrong, they suck, etc.

Plenty of people seem to have fallen for the Antifa cause since it claims to be against fascism - and who wouldn't be against that. However as we've seen, they themselves are fascists who feel free to use violence to silence those who don't share their views.

So I think Antifa is more dangerous because they aren't as overt and to the casual observer the cause might seem okay. Clearly the media is soft on Antifa criticism where as they have no problem (rightfully so) going all in against the KKK.

KKK is a has been, Antifa is a bigger potential force for society to deal with IMHO.

The KKK also has an extremely well-documented history of violence going back to Reconstruction. 98% of people in the country haven't even heard of Antifa, much less know what it is.

KKK criticism attracts more eyeballs and clicks.

What did he say that's wrong?

Honestly, his pussified reaction to the reporters. Not taking questions and repeating "they've been condemned", that sounds a lot like a kid being made to apologize.

He's been shamed into issuing this condemnation.

Don't get me wrong, it's certainly better than his silence but lets be real - NO way he would have done a second statement if his people weren't holding a gun to his head.

I give him partial credit, I don't give full credit for do overs or late work. 4/10

Meh. The people crying for his specific words are the same ones who never wanted Islam to be associated with terrorists.

He called out the KKK, white supremacists, etc. Condemned them by name in the strongest terms.

Not enough, it will never be enough for some.

Acosta isn't even pretending to be a serious journalist anymore.

If he personally executed the grand wizard on the white house lawn the anti trumpers would demand to know if he had a permit for the gun.

His words were fine, his actions and his appearance of a scolded child don't help to support his sincerity.

Honestly what do you expect? The press hangs on every word said and more importantly not said. I'm not sure how you condemn racism and bigotry but that somehow doesn't cover white supremacists.
