Charlottesville white nationalists riots

the only bad is who started the violence. they are all idiots and crap heads with nothing good happening in their lives.

again I ask the question. If BLM was having a peaceful walk down MLK here in ATL. a bunch of KKK members showed up and got violent, would you be blaming BLM for having the lawful protest? replace BLM with antifa if you are offended.

Of course I would blame the KKK. The two events are in no way analogous.......not even close.

The monument has apparently became a false idol to the white nationalists. It represents one thing for one side and another to the other. It's a representation of a Great Divide and must be destroyed. I could care less about the monument one way or the other. It's a petty battle that was made possible by the increasing divide from partisan politics from decades past. Now we have to watch the lowest common denominator from both sides battle over a symbol.

You know Robert E Lee was a decorated officer in the US Army and was even offered command of the Union forces by Lincoln.

We owe a lot to REL for what he did prior to the CW.

how are they so different?

The alt right went into a democratic community to protest the community's rightful decision to remove a racially divisive symbol.

They went there with full intent and expectation of a volatile reception.

How were they received by the governor and mayor?

Still a damn symbol. Do you need an altar?

There are a lot of damn symbols, the man should be remembered for what he did. Prior to the war he was an American hero!

There are others in SC you can worship.

I also heard he freed his family's slaves. Maybe you both can worship the same idol.

I don't even know what ANTIFA is.....BUT.....if they are ignorant simpletons resorting to violence born of hatred, then they are equally as reprehensible as the alt-right.

Do me a favor, when you point blame, be specific and name the individual or group. "Alt-right" covers a broad range of people, including myself.

So from what I can gather from scanning CNN and MSNBC.....white nationalists protested the removal of a confederate statue, counter protesters showed up, violence occurred, and the white nationalists are completely at fault.

Is that about right?

Most black people really don't care that much about this kind of stuff. Only the political class and SJWs of the bunch really cares that much.

It's what's problematic about labels. I feel like the media has lumped in anyone who isn't an establishment R with neo-nazis under the single banner of "alt-right"

MUH Racist frogs and such.

I've always felt the alt-right are generally conservative people who reject the establishment GOP. They're anti-neocons.
