I think the judge should have some culpability as well. He shouldn't have issued the warrant based on the evidence provided.

Not good, Donald...

Police push back against Trump's law-and-order speech

President Donald Trump's statement encouraging police officers to be "rough" with people they arrest has drawn criticism in law enforcement circles for sending the wrong message at a time of heightened tensions with the public.

"As a department, we do not and will not tolerate 'rough(ing)' up prisoners," the Suffolk County Police Department said in a statement.

Now having said this, the police reaction is comical. Since when has LEO taken a stand against police violence until Trump gave them a verbal greenlight yesterday?

100% correct.

I heard on the radio news (NPR maybe?) that someone put in a bill to legalize weed in the USA. That would really help in cutting down arrests.

Ever watch Live PD? I haven't seen one arrest for less than an ounce of weed (unless they can't pass a sobriety test). They do get a citation in many cases. I don't think the cops care that much about a little weed any more. They'll bust you hard though for pills, meth, or heroin.

Though I think all drugs should be legal, it would be interesting to see what a fully legalized weed would do to the other black market drugs. I am willing to bet we would see significantly less heroin use (but it would take time).

Heroin increase is from crackdowns on pill mills. I don't think people who smoke weed are substituting heroin for it.
