Behr, do you have any experience with a home-rigged sous vide setup? I'm wanting to do one to make my own syrups and need tips if you got 'em. Too cheap to buy a real one just to make syrups.

Smoked a chicken today. Was tired of the vinegar marinade. Googled citrus marinade and Mtn. Dew was mentioned with garlic added. First time I've ever marinated anything with a carbonated beverage. Was fantastic. Thoughts Behr?

Thoughts? I've personally never used Mountain Dew, but I have a friend that makes a blackberry glaze that includes mountain dew she serves on pork tenderloin that is phenomenal.
The sweetness and acidity in the mountain dew makes it a good ingredient for a marinade, especially with something like hot peppers and soy sauce.
