The officer that shot the woman is a Somali born muslim. He also shot her 2 times it sounds like. This is going to get very interesting.

CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. — The North Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a video that shows a trooper going the wrong way on a highway while attempting to stop street racers, WBTV reports. A group of people were blocking traffic to race along U.S. 321 around 4:30 p.m. in Newton Sunday. Troopers said they were creating hazardous conditions for other drivers. The video, which was shot by Carisa Lynn, has been widely shared on social media. “Just freaked out,” Lynn told WSOC. “It was crazy. It was very dangerous.” Lynn said she believes the trooper put more people at risk by the way he responded to the reported street racing. “Street racing isn’t what you should be doing, but it was more reckless in my opinion of the police officer to be driving the way he was driving, in general, to pull over some people racing,” Lynn said. As many as 10 BMWs were involved in the street racing bust, WSOC reports. Highway Patrol has impounded five of those vehicles. Multiple people face charges that include prearranged speed racing, careless and reckless driving and impeding traffic.

They do that on I-95 here in Georgia. I was driving one day and looked to the other side of the freeway and saw a cop car going the same direction as me on the shoulder. I believe I even said WTF to myself. Since then I've seen it a few times. I have no idea what they're doing. They go pretty fast too.

I'd like to know more of the story before passing judgement. In Knoxville, druggies and the homeless used to steal flowers from grave sites and then go sell them down town and on the strip.

I never said there were not bad cops. I said most are not bad. And like most things, the good stories are seldom told but there are hundreds on the internet if you chose to look for them. It must be sad to live life only pointing out the negative.

The vast majority of cops are good. The problem is a lot of them are young, a lot of them are not all that experienced or smart, and a lot of them fear FAR TOO much for their own safety. You can't be a cop and be ultra-concerned with your own safety. This is why so many police are trigger happy, IMO, and why they shoot a lot of people for no good reason, including the Minneapolis woman. A lawyer for one of two cops in that incident is floating the excuse that cops are right to have a fear of being ambushed--this is obviously what the cop who shot is going to claim. It's lame and won't fly. This was a grossly irresponsible act--and I suspect that the City of Minneapolis will be paying a large sum of money to the deceased's family. The question is, will the cop be charged with a crime?

Why did the chief resign? She should have fired the stupid SOB and then had him investigated and charged accordingly..... sounds like she pissed herself and caved under pressure. The mayor should tell the protestors to FO

The mayor had the police chief "resign"...... it's absolutely ridiculous...... they should suspend the officer, investigate and if it's like the way it looks so far, fire him and charge him according to the law.

That's not how the cop "code" works. The cop code is to protect their own, then the public in that order. If a few nefarious women in pajamas die reporting a crime, well so be it.
