Why did the chief resign? She should have fired the stupid SOB and then had him investigated and charged accordingly..... sounds like she pissed herself and caved under pressure. The mayor should tell the protestors to FO

The mayor had the police chief "resign"...... it's absolutely ridiculous...... they should suspend the officer, investigate and if it's like the way it looks so far, fire him and charge him according to the law.

That's not how the cop "code" works. The cop code is to protect their own, then the public in that order. If a few nefarious women in pajamas die reporting a crime, well so be it.

Well..... if this is the case then the chief should have told the mayor to FO..... and then take the appropriate actions against the officer... if she still had a job..... I wouldn't go down without a fight over some dim wit that can't control himself.

From an article I read the chief was pretty much given the option to resign and keep whatever benefits that come with that or be fired and and get nothing. It sounds like the police chief was following procedure.... you can't just fire an officer without following protocol.

Yeah definitely.... they should stand up to the protestors and do the right thing.... the only one responsible is the officer that did this horrible act. You still have to investigate and follow the evidence but I don't see any way that this was not a bad shoot.

This is the 2nd high profile shooting in a year for that police force... do you not think heads needed to roll over this?

Why do you side with the state so often with these issues?

Probably, probably not. Still in Minneapolis metro and the protesters are obviously reacting because of both incidents.

A pretty white lady got shot so heads actually have to roll. Nobody gives a **** about a black cafeteria worker who smokes weed.

Or it's bc it's the second high profile shooting in the same area and the pressure is being intensified..... other police chiefs have been forced to resign across the country when it has involved a minority being shot..... I think it's ridiculous either way when it involves a bad judgement call by an individual officer.

That's exactly what happens to regular citizens as well....I,personally and my family was charged with similar offenses.... they investigated and proved that it was not true and the person that made the original complaint was charged.... if he is found guilty then he should be removed from office and indicted.

I wasn't siding with the state my friend. I said the officer should have been fired, investigated and charged accordingly. It's debatable whether the chief is the problem ..... what about the head of the training academy? If you say it ultimately comes back to the chief then so be it..... but I say if that's the case then there is a lot more house cleaning needed in that police force. The enrollment requirements should also be reviewed as it appears they'll hire some full fledged morons.

I wasn't aware of the other high profile shooting.
