You can hardly ride one RB all game, much less an entire season. So who do you folks think see as having success down the road besides Kelly. I expect Fils-aime to get many carries in the opening games, but even 2 is insufficient if you run the ball a lot. Will Chandler play early as a freshman? Jordan? Coleman?

Chandler was brought in to play right away. JK will be option number one for sure. There will be plenty of carries for CFA and TC when JK needs a breather. Chandler looks the part physically as well.

Chandler is bound to get more and more looks as the season goes on. That being said I expect CFA to get plenty of opportunities to prove he can play. His sample size is way too small at this point to predict anything either way.

If we have to give significant carries to any of the walk-on RBs then we're in some real danger offensively. Hopefully the top 3 can stay healthy enough to give us a solid rotation all year.

I wouldn't be surprised if we might see Jordan or Coleman get carries. I also expect Chandler to be the number 2 rb early on.

We definitely need an established #2 asap. If Kelly has a really good year, he may be gone after one year being the featured back.

Can't afford much injury to this particular position. One injury and we will be into the freshmen right away. Expect to see a good bit of freshman participation at RB.

Hopefully Berry fills in on some relief duty as well.

We have plenty of depth at safety. Would switching Berry to RB full time be fair to him this late in his career? Would he get enough carries to justify the move? Is it too risky as far as his kick return duties?

I do not think you would switch him full time. You'd just make some plays to get the ball in his hands. He is too good to only be KR. We have to start getting him the ball more. By designing some plays around Berry, it creates snaps for him to make explosive plays and gives the RBs a breather.

No, no, and yes.

Tauren Poole, Montario Hardesty, and Ralph Webb say hello...

HOWEVER, the serious answer to your question is CFA and Chandler most likely. I would be very surprised if Kelly doesn't carry the ball 200+ times. Jordan was mentioned as a sleeper but probably needs a year.

Berry could have been moved to RB earlier. There was actually LESS depth before. This isn't a "deep" group. But they're as deep as UT has been under JOnes.

The only way you move Berry now is if UT runs out of RB's AND WR's.

Need to preserve legs and get CFA and Chandler the lions share of touches in the Indiana State and Umass games.

Just hold on to the football. Give me a RB that doesn't turn the football over, and I'm already happy. We lost to many critical turnovers last year. Does someone have those stats? Dragging a sled while holding the ball in a muddy gully brings back pictures of give Jamal the ball. We will know a lot about this new staff by fewer turnovers, fewer three and outs on that first critical series, and us scoring on big plays.

more touches for this guy, more touches for that guy, more touches all around. Do the people who call for one guy getting more touches sit down and think about it?

Kelly deserves a lot of touches, 20ish. Chandler has already been anointed the chosen one he needs lots of touches too, 10-15. TEs need more touches than last year, 10-15. Byrd needs touches all over the field, 5-10. Jennings, Calloway and other WR need touches too 30 at least. 5-10 QB rushes to go around as well.

thats already 80 touches on the low side. which is about what we average. this is also ignoring game flow and match ups and simply giving guys touches.

where/how does berry come in to play? and this isn't even considering the other RBs, and assuming a drop in QB runs.

get real people.
