If I was a Georgia fan I wouldn't be surprised at all.
Nobody ever criticized Richt's recruiting (quite the contrary), although it should never be difficult to recruit to Georgia.

Georgia is the biggest underachiever as a program since the SEC went to a divisional format, bar none.

Conference title, yes. But he won 2 more division titles, and had a 95-38 record after 2005, 5-6 10+ win seasons. There was plenty reason to keep him around and a pretty good reason or two to let him move on when they did.

Literally no one is asking Butch to win the SEC at this point, just come in first out of a bad East division....shouldn't be too much to ask.

Sounds like Kirby is learning from Butch and using as many excuses as possible for poor performance. Seems like Butch has grown some or at least taken some PR coaching sessions. One thing is for sure...neither coach should have any excuses this season.

This--it's more than just who gets drafted. Chubb, Michel, Eason...are all talented. Kirby ain't so Smart.

Spot on here. An East division title the last two years and I would be all for a 2-3 year extension this offseason.

How did Kirby come to the conclusion that CBJ was trolling him? I mean he COULD have really believed that UGA had more talent. It's not impossible to think that. The rest of what happened is not Butch's fault. He's just trying to create drama to get ppl to talk about his team.

Agree. He knows he still has a talented team, and hopefully the low expectations and presumed staff upgrades combine to produce an overachieving mentality.

And Kirby was the SOURCE of said alleged comment. Why bring up an on-field apparently complimentary exchange between a rival coach at a SEC media event unless you're serving some narrative? "Hey! That guy is WAY more full of crap than I am!" :loco:

and this year they might have that many drafted in the first 3 rounds.. just because all our talent ws upperclassmen and they had 2 second rounders return for their senior year does not make butch's statement wrong almost every pundit in the country rated GA one of the most talented teams in the SEC.

I think Jones would easily beat up Kirby in a no holds barred ladder cage match with the belt hung above for the victor to take.

Let me tell you something brother Jones has the heart of a 5 no 10 star champion and Woo! Can't be stopped by the cheap smack talk of a Nick Saban lap boy.

What exactly is the definition of owning to you? UGA is only down 23-21-2 against UT and Florida leads the series by 6 games and have won 11 of 12? I'm confused on your concept of owning!

Forget Florida. You're a Georgia fan. We lead the series. We have more national championships, SEC championships, wins, bowl wins, bowl appearances, draft picks, first round draft picks, and all Americans. You have the edge in Heismans, so congratulations on that. Manning was robbed, but that's a discussion for another day. The fact of the matter is whenever you lead a school in every relevant category, you own them. Kirby can talk all the smack he wants, but he hasn't won a thing without Saban holding his hand, and he damn sure hasn't beat Tennessee. He should focus less on talking, take off his mom's visor, and get to work.
