Kirby Smart takes a jab at Butch Jones

Yes they are but there is absolutely no reason Tennessee shouldnt be the exact same way, especially with the instate talent exploding. That's the problem, too many UT fans are fine with 8 and 9 wins. That's embarrassing to say the least. It's a big problem and I haven't exactly figured out why it's happening. Finebaum said it best today on BrAden and Fitz. I suggest listening to that interview.
You are right. The ultimate problem with TN starts at the very top. $ ppl

It's easy to compare CBJ to Dooley. Yr 5...compare him to 90s Fulmer imo

Fulmer never had to rebuild anything. As far as year 5 goes, can we let it actually let it play out before we judge him on it?

Remember, you're a guest here. Even welcome folks on visas don't have the rights of citizens...

Spurrier spewed more than one cutting remark during SEC media days, long removed from the last gridiron contest. "You can't spell Citrus without UT" issued from his mouth in the post-season, months removed from the actual UT-UF game. Don't paint him pretty in hindsight, and when he does pass from this life, don't forget to toss visors on his grave. Do it out of a very real respect.

You're a guest here too.

We're all Freak's guests.

Remember that.

Hey Kirby...... you got embarrassed by one of two SEC teams that didn't make a bowl game last year. Memphis put up a better fight against them than you did.

Also..... Nichols State Kirby..... Nichols State

Also..... how many players did you have that would have been easily drafted but chose to stay? 3 I can think of off the top of my head.

It's Tennessee and Alabama and then it's everybody else in the SEC. Alway has been, always will be.

Florida, Auburn, LSU, and Alabama off the top of my head have combined for several national championships since UT's last conference championship, or even east division championship for that matter. Tennessee and Alabama are definitely at the top in regards to history, tradition, stadium, etc., but Tennessee once again is kind of an afterthought overall. Especially after the hype train derailed after traveling at light speed. To your point that it will always be Tennessee and then everyone else in the SEC, we need to get back to competing in Atlanta at the very least. Butch gave me cautious optimism yesterday, and this time he wasn't selling a vision like he has in prior years. I'm excited for some football.

Guess Kirby is struggling developing talent to get drafted.

THIS!! How is it everybody knowing anything about college football saying UGA was talented last year (hello Chubb & Michel) and MORE talented this year than UT suddenly believing one year made that much difference in talent levels between teams?!?!? Lol Kirby having trouble developing talent is what it sounds like to me as well!!

Kirby replaced a guy who rolled out of bed with 9/10 wins per year. He is under considerable pressure.

Pundits everywhere are picking UGA to win the East this season based on the perceived talent. The draft explanation is nonsense - simply came down to Malone and Barnett leaving early while Chubb and Michel came back to school. Otherwise draft picks would be virtually equal.

The truth is UGA has no excuse not to be more talented than anyone in the East. If they're not, it's only Kirby's fault.

Exactly...am hoping that Kirby is UGA's Dooley...Derek, that it. First year audition was luke-warm. Another couple modest successful years, and UGA fan forum will begin to look a whole lot like VN.

There will never be another Dooley. No one will ever fail so mightily again.
