Does John Currie have any ties to Bob Stoops...

Or he realized he's done and doesn't want to end the way Spurrier did.

All of a sudden in June? Unlikely. This is something that started with a telephone call about a medical diagnosis or something they really want to keep out of the press. It was not a poignant moment on a hill watching the sunset while he imagined violins playing.

I've read that NFL teams have shown interest before and Stoops declined.
*If he is going, wonder what made the difference?

Wouldn't have a clue. He's been at OU for a long time in today's world.

The NFL is more interesting to me than just moving on to another college gig. He could get some good ones

.....other than being an AD in same conference that Stoops coached in. Not that we are looking for a new Head coach. I understand that AD's always have a list of possible replacement coaches in their back pocket.....just in case.

Smh, why, just why?

It is once again evident, that millenials are overrunning this site! Can't tell everyone how much I hate this Burger King mentality that abounds... not everything in life falls under the "have it your way" slogan... when a football team is a dumpster fire, becoming a championship caliber team once again isn't like rollin' up to the window & ordering some fries... character, grit, toughness & everything else that goes into winning football take time to build!

Personally I miss the days when our fan base was considered to be one of the most loyal & respectful fan bases in the country... now we seem to be overran w/ a lot of whining three year olds... sad...

Sorry but when I go out to bars it seems the older generation late 30s-60s seem to complain the most and want to fire everyone. The same people who pushed Fulmer and Majors out. That being said, every generation has its guilty, but to blame it solely on my generation? That's pish posh.

These are the same fans after all that send a moving truck to Bill Battles house, so I say once again.... wtf at you talking about???

The microwave is the cause of this. Back in the day a TV dinner would take 20 minutes from freezer to table, now it's 2. It's not have it my way, it's more like, let me have it now, even if it's inferior.

How many have eated cold pizza? I have. How much better is it if you zap it for 27 seconds? Much better. Have you ever preheated an oven and put the left overs slices in there for about 12 1/2 minutes? Best 12 minutes and 3 seconds you could spend(on food).

Stoops bought a $2,500,000 house in Chicago and claims Norman as home. Awesome.

I want it my way now.

Get it together Butch.

There are going to be a lot of unhappy fans on the board because the expectations are way higher than any coach can meet. We could hire Nick tomorrow and not meet these expectations. Imagine you hire him, we don't have the talent and have a 9 win season. First thing you hear is "He's no better than Butch."

Going to be?

It's natural to be unhappy after a loss. There are no moral victories.

It's easy to enjoy the thrill of the game and appreciate the effort from the team, but being happy about a loss? I don't even want to be happy or satisfied about a loss.

It sucks to lose, but the thrill of victory, that's the reason to compete.

121 needs to get on the "jazz".

I'll see y'all in Atlanta! In September, December and January!

Go Vols!

This talk about Stoops just makes me mad all over again as to why we blew that game when we played them. Big bad Oklahoma and we had em on the ropes...by TWO TOUCHDOWNS. That game is the one anyone that wants to get on Butch's case can point to. No way we should have lost that game. I could mention a couple others that year that reflected horribly on Butch...but I don't wanna think about it. I'm rooting for Butch...of course....but man. It still makes me mad thinking about that Oklahoma game.

You need to rewatch that game. Fourteen different plays that, if they'd gone just a little different, would've directly resulted in a Vols victory. Fourteen chances. Only one needed to go different.

Twelve of the fourteen were poor execution by specific players (or in a few cases, several defensive players missing tackles one after the other after the other). Only two of the fourteen were coaching decisions.

Every game is a combination of planning/coaching and execution/playing. Every win and every loss comes from a mix of both.

That game, in particular, was heavy on the lack of crisp execution in the 3rd and 4th quarters.

That one wasn't on Butch (neither Butch alone, nor Butch predominantly), not in my book. It was on the team.

Whether the team wins or loses is always on the team. And to me team includes players and coaches.

When someone is trying to find one player, one coach, one thing to blame - they are playing the 'what if' game. In reality there is always multiple reasons why things happen in a game.

Unfortunately it always ends up that folks focus on the last thing ... the last chance that failed, the last tackle that wasn't made, the last call that did not work, etc. when in reality there were always many chances before that one that could have resulted with that last chance not being required.

Yes...the unpaid student athlete, many of whom aren't able to legally buy a beer, should definitely hold the same responsibility as a team of highly paid professional mercenary coaches with decades of football experience between them. Makes perfect sense.

Just one question though....who, exactly, is responsible for choosing which players are on the field, and who is responsible for training them on what to do when they are there?

Who made the decision to kick a field goal and not go for the TD from the 1-foot line in the first Qter? We score 7 there and we win in regulation. So sad....
