Does John Currie have any ties to Bob Stoops...

C'mon I haven't read enough conspiracy theories here yet. Maybe he resigned to become Trumps next FBI chief or run for governor of Oklahoma or move BACK TO Florida to be an anti
SEC sportswriter. Let's get a few more other than 'sick wife' or upcoming recruiting issues.

Read Trump in the beginning, and then was wondering where the rest of the sentence went after the "anti" where you accidentally hit enter and started a new paragraph. Thought for a brief second your conspiracy was Stoops joining the anti-fa lunatics out in Berkeley and elsewhere wreaking havoc in order to protest Trump. Surely I would prefer to stay in Norman and never pay for a meal if I was Bob Stoops in this scenario.

Does Stoops have ties to Currie?
He ain't coming here.
I'd rather have Chip Kelly.
You're on crack, Jesus is a more likely candidate.
Stoops languished in mediocrity.
His an upgrade to Butch.
I'd take him.
He'd be the first I would call if I'm Currie.
He is not a serious upgrade.
He'd have statues and streets named after him with his record here.
Rename Neyland, you drinking?

Opinions all over the place. I'm not making fun of any of those comments, I just thought it was funny how many different ones there are and from one extreme to the other.

Stoops won 10 BIG 12 titles in 18 years.

If we had a coach duplicate the same feat, he'd have a lifetime contract, a statue erected outside the stadium, Cumberland Blvd would be renamed in his honor, and Neyland stadium possibly renamed as well.

But Stoops was horse-azzing around? :salute:

He'd be named Nick, or wouldn't be playing in the SEC

Impossible KB....all of us in the "Fahr-Butch" Nega-Vol contingent expect National Championships every year. And ponies. Everybody knows that.

And unicorns Boro....you forgot the unicorns.

Well he would be an upgrade whether you want to admit it or not.

He absolutely would be.
He's beaten Butch 2 times with both teams being similar in talent.

You don't have to hate Butch to admit that.

Bob would do just as well at Tennessee as did at OU.
If not better.
Better talent base...

OU went 60-30 vs AP Top 25 foes during Stoops tenure—the highest winnning percentage against ranked teams of any school during that stretch.

Absolutely nothing "meandering" or "mediocre" about that. Under Stoops, they've consistently been one of the best 5-6 programs in the country for nearly 2 full decades.

Look it's perspective. There is only ONE championship that counts every year unless you're one of those Richt type guys that point to conference championships or division championships. I totally get that. The NC is what everybody should be taking the field for and IMO no coach at a big time D1 school of which UT is one should be the HC >10 years if they can't get a NC. Stoops hasn't had one in greater than that, he's Richt 2.0 to me. We let Fulmer go with one NC on his resume because he was not close and seemed nowhere near gaining another one, that was a good decision at the time IMO. The use by date on CBJ is ticking for him to have my support even where he to win say the SECE for 3 straight years. If you're not in first place or THE champion you're first loser or less, plain and simple. Perspective again other people labeling people great is often just my good so I get it, hence KB says Chubb is great I say Chubb is good.

Since making the "good"decision to fire Phillip Fulmer whose career record was 152-52, Tennessee has went 52-48 with 3 different coaches. There is no way in hell the last ten years look anywhere near as bad if they don't fire fulmer. You logic is simply ignorant. Good day.

Didn't read the entire thread because it's ridiculous. But did anyone mention that he literally just bought a home in Chicago?

Bob Stoops was Mark Richt before Richt was Richt. He won a NC true enough, with another guy's recruits. Since then he languishes as OU meanders in mediocrity. OU is much like UT, storied program, always in the conversation, hyper fanbase, plenty of money, talent on the field, and Stoops can't get it done, so we would want him why again????

Weren't they in the playoffs year before last? I'd love to be that "mediocre."
