'18 TN DL Greg Emerson (UT commit 7/3/17)

Here, as in Jackson TN. Childhood home of Al Wilson and Greg Emerson.

Jackson does seem to inspire much more loyalty to UT than the greater Memphis area even though they aren't that far apart. I was never worried about Trey Smith and I'm not worried about Emerson either. Jax is Big Orange Country all the way (correct me if you think I'm wrong).

You are correct. Most of Northwest TN is UT country. There is an area or 2 that has a little pull to other SEC schools. But typically if UT wants a player from here they get him.

I like the fact that Emerson & T.Smith are tight. That relationship will help us tremendously. I think he is all Vol.

Nope, you're correct. Grew up there myself.

I live in Jackson. Definitely big orange country here. A friend of mine works with the Northside football team. He will be extremely shocked if Greg isn't a Vol.

The Skinny: The Vols have positioned themselves in solid shape to eventually land the 4-star defensive end from Jackson. Emerson spent an entire weekend in Knoxville earlier this spring, and has close ties with a number of UT commits and top targets. Alabama and Ohio State remain in contention, too.

Yep most of West TN is GBO.

Yep. I grew up in Jackson and W. TN as a whole is very orange. Haywood Co. used to send guys to MSU, and obviously Memphis provides talent to numero SEC schools so there are a number of large fanbases there, but UT is very well represented.
