'18 TN DL Greg Emerson (UT commit 7/3/17)

I'm guessing that Crosby won't be playing at his High School weight, but his 247 profile lists him at 330. At FB that would be more like "the Fridge." Either way, I think his potential at DT is huge. He would be 2nd to Emerson if he were in this class, and ahead of Litaker and Lawless. Kid has a high ceiling IMO.
Hopefully he slims down but athleticism is not his problem. Did you see any of his RB highlights? Nobody gonna wanna tackle him and he's deceptively fast for his frame

Most of those sacks came against the cupcakes. He was not a threat during our gauntlet

Had a sack against VTech, UGA, USCe, and Nebraska. Had two against UK. What's so bad about that?

In 2015, he had two sacks at Bama.

Not a dynamic player but a solid contributor.

Per Hubbs

Finally, the Vols’ staff has been all over the road this week to end the spring evolution period, seeing top targets including priority defensive end Greg Emerson. Both Walt Wells and Bob Shoop were by to see him on Thursday.

I really can't see Emerson taking his recruitment all the way to December with what the momentum Tennessee has right now in recruiting. Litaker will also commit soon , so that will be 2/3 of the big 3 committed already .

Hard to predict what a 17 year old kid will do. But, Emerson holds the cards in this situation. He is wanted by several high caliber programs who will guarantee him a spot in their class. The only way he moves up his timeline is if he gets tired of the constant contacts from coaches and fans.

From Rivals:

DE Greg Emerson

The Pick: Tennessee

Why: “I think the in-state pull. He really talked about Alabama when we were at another camp together and how he liked it, and I know it’s between us and them but he didn’t tell us much about it so I figure he’ll go to Tennessee.” – Rivals250 Manchester (Tenn.) Coffee County ATH Alontae Taylor

The Pick: Tennessee

Why: “Because Brant Lawless already committed and I think once he commits D’Andre Litaker will commit and they’ll form the big three up there at Tennessee.” – 2019 Rivals100 Nashville (Tenn.) Franklin Road Academy WR Lance Wilhoite

I would be very disappointed if we lost Emerson to Alabama. Please 8oz baby Jesus, let this young man end up a Vol.

OT: my football coach/biology teacher at Heritage let us watch Arachnophobia in class, when we were learning about anthropods.

I will allow it!!!!!!!!!

Kind of off topic, save for the comments by '19 WR Lance Wilhoite, but the instate WR class for 2019 is redonkulous. Knox, Scurry, Sheffield and Wilhoite all have top 150 potential.

I agree Chris. I think the 19 class has a chance to be more explosive on the offensive side of the ball for in state recruits. Just win baby!
