The Official 2nd Amendment Appreciation Thread

What Sig 1911s do u have? I have a .45 tac ops that I love.

I have the Tac Ops as well along with the XO. The XO is pretty much the Tac Ops minus the flared mag well and the rail. Of the two, I like the Tac Ops for the ability to toss a light on, but for pure shooting, I actually prefer the XO.

I shoot the Sig, Spartan, it's a nice .45...I like it better than my Kimber, but still prefer the Colts....I have had some work done on the Colts....

I know a lot of 1911 traditionalists that don't consider the Sigs to be "true" 1911s with the external extractor and different slide. But I honestly like it more than the Springfields I've owned and just as much as my Rock Islands. But my Rocks are all in 9mm, so that makes a difference.

S&W is offering a $75 rebate on the shield right now. Gunbuyer.com has the 9 for $309 shipped, putting you out the door at $234 after rebate. Picking mine up this afternoon.

At the range the other day guy in the lane next to me was shooting his S&W shield 9mm and his sear release pin(the yellow lever you need to flip down from vertical to horizontal for disassembly) fell out. Has anyone else experienced this?
I have over 2000 rounds through mine and no issues.
I can't even see how it fell out unless while he had disassembled he flipped it back up before re assembly, still there's a spring that keeps it in.

Wandered into Academy last night and saw that they have the Glock 42 380 on sale for $399 and the 43 9mm for something like $430. Too bad my wife wants to purse carry and needs a P238.

And Winchester has a 25% off rebate on 380 ammo going on. (Sorry 9mm excluded)

About those Ammo rebates- I sent in the upc for some Remington rebates and it took 8 weeks for my rebate check to show up, I'll just use freedom munitions and minuteman munitions, both cheap and haven't had any issues with either of them, minuteman has the Ammo can refill 1,000 9mm for 181.$ shipped. As of now I've shot about 600 rounds through 3 pistols and a keltec sub 2000 with no problems.

Sounds like Steyr has some sour grapes. The P250 came out years ago and it wasn't an issue. The P320 came out a couple of years ago and they didn't say anything about it then either. But when a lucrative US Government contract is awarded, by golly, we're gonna sue!

SIG SAUER is riding high following the announcement that their P320 handgun has been accepted for service by the U.S. military to replace the aging Beretta M9. Naturally everyone else in the gun manufacturing world, especially those who were their competition during the selection process, are trying to throw spanners in the works and keep the guns from actually being delivered. Today’s complication comes from Steyr Arms, who claim that they have a patent on the removable chassis system that makes the P320 (and P250) series handguns unique.

The complaint filed May 3rd in U.S. district court for the northern district of Alabama references Steyr’s patent US6260301 (filed in 1999 and approved in 2001), which is for a handgun with a removable chassis.

Probably just 75 to 150 tops. Just iron sites. 75 would be better because I would like to take a first time shooter

My family owns a private range but you have to bring your own bench. I'll have to get you access. You can shoot easily out to 100 yards. It has a shooting house for shorter distances.
