I think the article is less about the players and more about a shot at Butch

We haven't had a go to receiver in a long mile. I understand the QB debate, I hear a lot of fans compare Dobbs to Holloway not in the GOAT but as in putting the team on his back and his elusiveness. But, to say we are falling is laughable. Any fan who watched the UGA spring game should see how dumb ESPN is.

Their 247 site thinks they will start two FR in the secondary. They look to be good at DE, but that they will be awful at DT. They only have 4 on their roster and will have to get FR to play.

Most of their projected depth charts are projecting 5 SO, 3 FR, and 3 JR starters. Unlike in the past, a lot of those guys weren't 4 and 5 stars, but 3*s. They are going from Caleb Brantley to a 270lb 3* DT from Wyoming.

They are pretty loaded at WR, but the OL looks average at best.

I posted something like this a few weeks back. These are exact sentiments from my brother in law and he is a Bull Gator.

I really don't get the trashing of Butch now that he is 4 years in. Back to back 9 win seasons playing in the SEC is not bad, it's good. Should have been better, but it is still good. He's not the #51 P-5 coach by a long shot. I give him around #20-25. He has thrashed three B10 opponents in the bowls. He brought the UF streak to an end. Beat UGA a couple times in a row. It's the dumb losses that have hurt the story.

It has always been a question of whether he can take them to elite status. He's brought the program back to respectibility. Well, this last off season proved he will do all he can to make elite happen. He made some crucial, quality coaching hires. Rock is critical. You will see much different looking and performing players physically this fall. Player durability is extremely important as we all saw. If you can't keep your best on the field you can't win at a high level. He added top professionals in Hoke and Warren. Giving Scott the OC spot was big. There really are no weak links in coaches any more. Guess which recruiting classes are now the upper classmen that have been in the program 2-3 years? The two highest rated classes in his tenure.

Time for Butch to bring the negative narrative to an end.

We're an easy target because we care.
Several of those coaches have underachieved worse than Jones. Their fan bases are just a little more indifferent.

If you want clicks, over-hype or just make hyperbolic insults towards Tennessee. Either will earn you tons of clicks and half of those clicks will agree with you no matter which route you take.

They lost their DC as well. Shannon is a vet and all, but a step down no less.

It is time for VN to stop reading these idiotic articles and posting this trash.. I stopped reading Climer and Adams ages ago. ESPN is just trying to get clicks. They are dying.

I giggled... no, he has not done anything here yet to garner that.... he has turned the program around and has us moving in the right direction, but less we forget he had the SEC championship game in his grasp and 'ish the bed not once, but twice and let it slip away. Once he at least makes us the best in our division, then you can start to have conversations... we beat FL and GA, but couldn't win the division...
