No way they don't take a step back. Significant drop off iyam.

Most media people are close to minimum wage journalism majors, they follow a template and in most cases use a review of last year to predict the next season of a given team, with a few additional details based on top recruits or any highly discussed issues. These guys are not analyzing anything at all, doubt they watched more than 15 minutes of any spring games.

Jesse Simonton on VQ is another who is convinced UF's defense won't miss a beat this year. Makes no sense to me. They lost everyone. Just because that defense has been strong doesn't mean it will continue to be when they lost just about every playmaker.

If it's the same defense that we torched for 35 points in the second half, then I'll allow it :)

Yep. It's just an assembly line. They take component parts and build generic articles. Rarely a journalist will actually dig into a program and really begin to understand what is going on. Mac hasn't recruited and now all of Chumps players are gone. He is supposed to be an offensive guy but his offenses have been offensive since he got to UF. It doesn't take a fortune teller to see that the likelihood of UF regressing this year is higher than us. Oh well though. I'm just a homer UT fan so what do I know.

Reading Florida message boards and UF fans don't even think they will be good.

Their 247 site thinks they will start two FR in the secondary. They look to be good at DE, but that they will be awful at DT. They only have 4 on their roster and will have to get FR to play.

Most of their projected depth charts are projecting 5 SO, 3 FR, and 3 JR starters. Unlike in the past, a lot of those guys weren't 4 and 5 stars, but 3*s. They are going from Caleb Brantley to a 270lb 3* DT from Wyoming.

They are pretty loaded at WR, but the OL looks average at best.

Welcome to mediocrity, Florida.

I keep reading about how great Scarlett is too. Kelly averaged 6.5 ypc last year and Scarlett 5 ypc and had one less td on about 90 less attempts.

Callaway is great, but Jennings averaged 14.5 yards per catch and had 7 td's. Callaway only had 3 tds and 13.4 yards per catch.

At WR who do they have Callaway and Cleveland? Powell didn't do anything last year.

I like our young guys and Jennings more than their group. Those second year guys can flat out run. Been a while since we had guys like that.

Swain started to come on later in the season, didn't he? He's still unproven, but we all were pretty high on him coming out of HS.

Sounds like a team only a Dooley could love.

Good for her. We have a pretty good team. I hope we can win the WCWS this year. We have been so close for a while now.

I would love to see it, too, but I think, unfortunately, Florida will be very tough to beat. They have a very dominant pitching staff. Their number two starter would be an ace on most other teams. Still, we did beat them once, so it is doable.

I gave you a like just for having to go on a gators message board. That is a horrid place, my friend. I hope you took a shower afterwards.
