Is there any word from Saturday's practice? I don't see a thread about it in the FF, but it was just mentioned in a quote on this page.. Link please? Or a rundown of any knowledge?

The coaching clinic was this weekend. Some people who attended said Dormady looked like the better QB. It was one practice though. I wouldn't put too much stock in it.

Bust, written all over him.

Oh how the NFL loves to ignore production in the face of pretty measurables

This. Can anyone remember the last super-hyped up guy due to his measurables that actually was a success in the NFL? The last one I can think of was Chris Johnson.

These guys are getting paid big bucks and shelling out big bucks on these decisions. You'd think they would look at more historical data when going after the freak measurable only players.

I guess they have not been reading VN or they would have understood what they were seeing is impossible.

Michael Sam had some great stats in college.

Mario Williams wasn't a bust.

For the #1 pick he was. Very good player for a few years but def not a #1 pick career that you expect. It's my thing with Garret. He will have some succes. Too good of an athlete not too but if I have the top pick in entire draft don't you want your athletic freak to have great production versus all teams good and bad? This would make me feel more safe in predicting a kid having a long successful career.

If I was Browns I'd take Fournette. They need a RB. He is a lock for several big years. Actually I'd prefer to trade for someone's picks and rack up but if I had to pick

I will respectfully disagree with drafting Fournette. Running back is not actually a need on the roster IMO (and I say that because Crowell and Johnson are capable). Cleveland needs pass rush, quarterback, and d-line. I wouldn't pass on Garrett---comparing him to Mario Williams would be ok. Mario didn't have a Bruce Smith impact at all but at least a starter. You've got to realize that years of firing coaches coordinators and bad drafts have put the Browns where they are currently.

I don't know about Fournette... he is a risk at #1 too many injuries... If I had to pick the best player in this draft considering how the NFL is played and where I could get the most value.... it's OJ Howard hands down....

That's true. I was piggy-backing of Ziti's example of Michael Sam who, like TH, had great college stats.

College stats are one thing and then doing it on Sunday is a whole other ball game. I'd pick AK over Fournette in a heart beat anyway---the days of a 50 plus bell cow back in the NFL no longer exist. AK can catch the ball out of the backfield---and whatever situation he goes into I picture him getting 15 to 20 "touches" which could make him productive. I'm not sure if Fournette could do either of those things.

I hated watching him play.... he just looked lazy and very uncoordinated.... I just never liked him....

You cold call him a lot of things, but lazy sure isn't one of them. That's part of why he was so dominant...he'd routinely outwork his opponents.

Looks like Shoop is pleased with the play of Taylor and Kongbo. Man those 2 could be a sneaky good duo in this league.

Also interesting that it's goes against the VQ (I believe) report of DE being a concern.

VQ being honest > Shoop talking magic shows

Hey I am at 800....!!!! 😎😎😎 but I Hurd lazy is the wrong word but he looked.... sloppy... sloppy is a better word.... just like that geeky guy that just happens to be tall with no sense of hand eye coordination....

It takes more than Taylor and Kongbo being good for DE not to be a worry. Vq is very smart to say that is a position of worry

Ahhh the Xbox EA Sports developed philosophy. In many instances, that is exactly the right type of play to run. Calling 4 verts and airing it out every 3rd and 15 works great on the Xbox.

Because there is nothing in between those two. Either a draw play or 4 verts. Gotcha

Hubbs is pretty good on his player evals. Doesn't buy into hype much. As he infamously said, he'll see it when he believes it.

Pretty much everyone else on VQ is/was a homer and prone to overhyping guys, especially Brice, Fort, and Price.
