Best/worst case scenarios for Vols entering NFL.

Mine has to do with style and fit.

Dobbs-- kc, tn, car
Barnett-- car, Balt, cin, nyg
Kamara--no, Tampa, ne, car
Sutton--pit, sea, ne, dal
Malone--tn, tampa, dal, oak
Maybin--ne, atl, sea, car

That's my favorite landing spot for Dobbs... KC... great system fit and will have time to mold him... Sutton at NE or TN makes the most sense...
JRM I could ATL, TB, or NE super smart player... he will be a still as will Sutton ( IMO)
Barnett... KC, PIT, or CAR....
Kamara GB, NO, DET, NE...
Malone anywhere that needs a burner... isn't going to be a #1 but a good #2,3.... LV makes sense...

Barnett going to a 3-4 team makes little sense to me. I can see him thriving with the Raiders, Rams, or Seahawks.

Pro Football Focus are not like McShay and Kiper. I don't think they have as many sources in NFL front offices like Kiper and McShay. And I don't think they are trying to match the teams with players they are hearing they are interested. It seems to me like they are just matching teams with players they have heard the teams have high grades on. That is why they have a guy like Solomon Thomas in the mid-teens even though everyone else him going #2 overall because they have heard teams in the top 5 like San Francisco value him highly. And they have Fournette falling to #24 even though sources in NFL front offices are telling guys like Kiper and McShay that Jacksonville at #4 and Carolina at #8 value him highly.

I told you months ago mock drafts are worthless in general until the last couple of weeks before the draft when connected people like McShay, Kiper, and Daniel Jeremiah start finalizing their boards and mock drafts and tell us what they are hearing.

Mock drafts from guys without connections to NFL front office execs and NFL scouts is worthless at this time of the year.

Back on December 31st, in the same post you said Malone would "run 4.3" and "soar up the draft boards", you said this about McShay and Kiper while discussing AK...

"Kamara's stock is higher among scouts than clowns like Mel Kiper and Todd McShay."

So now they're no longer clowns and are instead "connected"?

Classic D4H....

There are no good evaluators in the NFL. There are just those that get it a little less wrong than others. I don't know why you treat their word as gospel.

Derek Carr and Dak Prescott are better than all those first round QBs you named and those guys missed on them. I'm telling you know they are also missing on Dobbs and Kaaya. And potentially Mahomes but he needs a lot of work.

I reiterate my offer to send your evaluations to my contact on the Titans' scouting staff.

I would say GB, Sea, Pitt, NE, KC, Den, Oak, Bal, and quite a few other teams have good evaluators. They're usually in the playoffs consistently. That's only 2 out of 32. Most of the starting QBs in the NFL are first rounders. 20 out of 32 were drafted in the first round.

To be fair, the worst evaluator ever should be able to recognize the ineptitude of like talent. :wink2:

How many times do I have to tell you this? Kiper himself said it last week. At this point in the process Kiper and McShay are no longer telling us their opinions they are relaying what they hear from NFL front offices. Kiper said this on NFL Live this week while making fun of McShay. He said McShay was laughing at him a few months ago because he had Patrick Mahomes going in the 2nd round. McShay said he wouldn't pick Mahomes before the 3rd round. But now he has Mahomes as a first rounder because that is what the NFL front offices are telling him. Kiper said at this point in the year people don't care about their opinions anymore it's what the NFL teams think that matters and that is how they craft their mock drafts and big boards.

You need to realize that before the senior bowl and combine everything the media heads are saying is conjecture because the NFL GMs and top personnel folks have not even started delving deep into the prospects yet. That is how you get guys rising and falling. The media heads start learning who the teams like and who they don't. That is how you get Solomon Thomas passing Jonathan Allen on everyone's big board in a matter of days after Allen led him all during the college season.

You were linking to Kiper and McShay almost a year ago.

If so, then why call em clowns at any point in time? Why not, back on January, just say "guys, it doesn't matter, they're 'connected' and they'll let us know what the NFL teams think and are gonna do as we get close to the draft"?......even though you've said all the NFL teams are stupid and can't evaluate talent either?

You've put yourself in quite the box there D4H. That tends to happen to dishonest people who are eaten up with hubris.

Cause they are clowns. They are terrible at their jobs. They can't evaluate prospects worth a dime. The NFL guys aren't much better anyways. This whole process is a joke. A bunch of guys at a bar who just watch games on a TV screen could do just as well as these "experts".

When I cite McShay or Kiper I'm not citing their evaluation or opinion on a prospect. I'm only citing them as to where a player is currently valued.
And that information only becomes reliable at this time of the year.

I have lost count of how many times I've offered to send your evaluations to my contact with the Titans. Honestly, if you think you are the best at this, why not try to monetize it?

Do I get the same offer?

The good talent evaluators are able to go into the Group of Five and below in tiers of football. They will find NFL players out of FCS schools. Anybody on this board can scout first and second rounders, but what about the late rounds?

Still hanging on to that delusion I see. I thought you were Mr. Facts and data? Mel Kiper, Todd McShay, and your favorite Matt Miller of Bleacher Report are all now saying Dobbs goes by the 3rd round.

The same guys who you claim to not have a clue what they are doing. Interesting.

The best TV guy is Charlie Casserly by a mile.

He was one of the loudest anti-Newton pro-Gabbert voices on TV in 2011. No thanks. To me that draft was the barometer. If you thought Blaine Gabbert was a better pro prospect than Cam Newton then I question you football intelligence.

Another group of QBs that were overrated. We all question your football intelligence. You actually say some smart stuff, but you throw some really stupid stuff out there.

Casserly was the guy who was smart enough to choose Mario Williams over Reggie Bush. We can comb through everyone's mistakes. You're probably worse than the TV guys.
