My problem with realists is that I have enough in my life I have to be realistic about. Tennessee sports is hobby for me. It's a getaway for me. Some of the realists are dragging me down. While you are being real, I'm gonna enjoy myself and be optimistic about next year. The day I lose that optimism is the day I quit investing my time into the team. It sucks enough to endure losses during the season. I'm not going to drag myself down during the offseason with doom and gloom.

Yep. Been through a uninspired Fulmer, Kiffin and then Derek freaking Dooley.

I'm good now.

This is from an article on ESPN about the SEC quarterback positions:

Florida

Freshmen Feleipe Franks and Kyle Trask are essentially neck and neck in Gainesville. Franks might have pulled ahead slightly, but this thing is far from over. Both can sling it, but both have had control issues. Franks has been more vocal, but Trask has been smoother on some of the tougher throws at times.

Luke Del Rio, who began last season as the starter but went down a few times with injuries, will return to the competition this fall. Freshman Jake Allen also will be added to the mix, but this is a two-headed race right now.

It makes me happy that their options are one of two true freshmen and their only experienced vet is Del Rio and he won't be healthy until fall camp.

They are redshirt freshmen like Guarantano.

ZERO. HEALTHY. DEFENSIVE. TACKLES. Vs candy

Why is that so hard for some people to understand??

Because it's not true. It's an exaggeration. Vickers was a starter all season and he was available at one of the spots.

Rotating between Picou, Kongbo, and Mixon to shore up DT wasn't ideal. But the situation wasn't so bad that everybody should just accept Vandy gaining 600 yards.

Out of all the guys you mentioned for the front 7, there was only one DT mentioned and he is a 3 technique.

I think that should explain, very easily, what happened to our defense. That combined with a defensive backfield that was horribly coached hurt us the most.

1. Vickers started and played at the one technique all season.

2. Between Kongbo, Mixon, Picou, and Phillips, it reflects poorly on the coaches that they couldn't find one decent stopgap 3 technique. I still remember Jordan Williams moving inside as an undersized 280 lb 3 technique in 2014 and doing a decent enough job. At least two of those guys above have much higher ceilings than he did.

I agree. Call me arrogant but I don't care what has transpired, Tennessee should never get smoked like that by Vanderbilt. I don't take any losses well but to perform that way against Vanderbilt is embarrassing. They need to know who their Daddy is and be reminded of it every year.

Vandy and USC losses were terrible. Didn't look like Butch Jones-led teams out there. Felt like the entire program somehow regressed back to 2011-2013 those nights. Same thing with the Bama loss.

It is possible I have you confused with someone else. All the negative posts, especially this time of year, has me a little discombobulated..lol

Never, never is a long time..

Reid is in desperate need of an offseason in the weight room, he looks like a corner out there. I think he's gonna be a JRM clone.

Not sure George will ever see meaningful minutes. The guys around him just look better.

I like this younger group of receivers a lot.
