Article: Why the Cleveland Browns are a perfect fit for Josh Dobbs

To recap this thread. Still a very good chance cleveland grabs dobbs, but it will be in a lower round and it won't be for QB, it will be in a multiple receiver type roll to take Pryors place.

What on earth leads you to believe they would draft Dobbs to play him at receiver?

Dobbs said that no team he interviewed with wanted him at any position other than QB.

Because they will either pick up garopollo OR trubisky before they pick up dobbs and they are going to fill their defensive needs first through the draft, but they have lost Pryor and not concerned about it because they have a lot picks AND they like Dobbs a lot.

1+1+1=3

This is big boy ball now buddy. This is business. If he wants his shot he can have it, but he will get what the market dictates.

He's not going to play receiver. Is he fast and can he dodge people...absolutely. Who knows if he can run routes or catch. He is a qb...and think whoever drafts him will be for qb...he'll get his shot. If some coach can develop his accuracy, they'll have a real steal!!! Go Josh!!!

Personaly I would be THRILLED to see Josh Malone in a brown's uni. I've got my fingers crossed, but I also would take Barnett over Garrett all day.

You mean like Pryor? He will play what the NFL gives. That's adult life.

I could be wrong but I think if Dobbs isn't on a team as a QB he's likely to just take the aerospace route.

I think he got played by his agent tbh. They stayed at the table so long with cleveland that everybody spent what they had to spend already. The rest of the money is already tied up in future plans. This is what I'm getting off the Browns fan forums so take it as you want.

That doesn't even make sense

It makes all the sense in the world. This explains things nicely. Drew and Jason Rosenhaus killed Pryor's career because they wanted to make more money off him. They filled his ear with talk about getting back up QB type money and he believed them. When the Browns refused to give him that (rightfully so) nobody else was going to pay him that money either. So he winds up at an imploding washington team for the same or maybe less money (depending on bonuses). Pryor will likely disappear into the fog of NFL history at this point. He could have been the main scorer on an up and coming team with money to spend. Be very careful about being happier then happy. That grass may look greener, until you buy the house next door and realize it's full of grubs and gofers and the money and work it takes to keep it looking so green drives you into the poor house when you had a very nice lawn before.

Well, Cleveland has had tme to digest the moves now and it seems the consensus is Guarrett at 1 because......? EassPN says so I guess. I can't think of ONE single reason to choose Guarrett over Barnett if you are Cleveland except you are being held hostage by EassPN. But then it gets more interesting because most have OJ Howard going at 12. WHY, because if they are focusing on getting their guy next year will be the year to look at the QB situation, not this year, and if you are looking at next year as a much better QB year you won't pick a QB first round this year... so that's the reasoning.

This is interesting for several reasons. First, that sends Barnett to Cincinnati to put on a Halloween costume and wreck the Browns for the next 4 years, no matter WHO they have at QB. Secondly it puts us in a position to NOT have a pass rush for the next few years.

It also has given rise to rumours that the Browns are looking at WEBB as a cheap late round pick to fill in as back up QB. Now, my argument on this is... why WEBB when Dobbs will probably go about the same time? They like Dobbs.

New name being thrown around on Cleveland Browns Daily is a sudden interest in Patrick Mahomes. He's got the size and arm.

What about this kid? Who is he?

Picked up off wavers from cinci. Pretty sure Hugh has worked with him at some point in the past. He's in his prime 4 yr. He was doing well in crunch time situations for cinci until he tore a something and was on the PUP list for a while. The browns seem to think he's back to his old self. He could fill the slot need nicely. I don't know how well he recovered from his injury.

What are his measurable's? And is there any tape on him from Cincy?

listed 6'2 203. Just a few highlights of his catches before he got injured.
Do you know how to look for attributes for wide receivers? Like their route running, body control, accleration, how the attack the last portion of their route (usually from there break to the catch point, how they defeat leverage on a CB, this sorts of things)...

Welp, I know what I am looking at when I see it. Do they run clean routes, do they have good body control, can they separate, so they have good hands, and do they make plays when they are expected to. Why?

LOL reports are today they are making a run at Kirk cousins. I said I always thought he would be a good Brown. Can you imagine what's going through Pryor's head?
