Article: Why the Cleveland Browns are a perfect fit for Josh Dobbs

Back on to the actual subject of this thread:

I actually could see the Browns taking Dobbs. After trading for Osweiler, they certainly aren't going to take a QB before the 4th round at the earliest, and they'll need a backup plan to mitigate Osweiler's general suck, so Dobbs may well be on their radar.

Stop wishing bad on Dobbs, bama scum.

The Browns should just shut it down.

OMG the Browns just traded for Brock Osweiler.

The Texans basically said "we will give you a free second round pick if you will take Osweiler."

Holy crap.

That's actually a good trade. A second round pick in this year's draft is incredibly valuable. Browns have the cap space to absorb his contract. And at worst he can be a decent backup QB to a rookie Josh Dobbs.

I think the Browns are smart to load up on draft picks this year.

Just saw it was a 2018 second round pick rather than a 2017 second round pick. That makes the move slightly less impressive. 2018 should also be a good draft so this is still a good deal. But if I was Cleveland I would have forced a 2017 second rounder out of them instead.

Taking on a 100 million dollar backup qb that sucks for a 2nd round pick, next year. Lol...Browns doing browns things. Throw in a Kenny Britt and things looking bright up there...lol

If i were the Browns i would have said, give me Watt and ill take Osweiler and your 2nd pick...........or ill take Osweiler and a second if you will pay his contract.

Cleveland is actually the perfect landing for Dobbs. He will be able to compete for immediate playing time in 2017. And with the moves they've already made to upgrade their offensive line he should get decent protection. Browns also have a ton of draft picks in a deep and talented draft so he'll have more talent coming in with him.

If you want to see Dobbs play in the NFL next year then Cleveland is the best bet.

Lol....Browns release Osweiler...and still have to pay him if he is not picked up.

Lol.....idiots

Cleveland is a good landing spot for......noone.

If you want to see Dobbs play in the NFL, hope he gets picked my Cleveland.
If you want to see Dobbs succeed in the NFL and play for several years....hope he gets drafted by anyone but Cleveland.

I will give credit to the Browns for picking up Zeitler. He's a solid guard. It's a big contract, but the Browns had no choice but to spend.

But the Browns are giving Kenny Britt > $8 million per year, just picked up a starting center that is made of glass, and took on a massive salary dump from the Texans. They blew all that money while still playing hardball with Pryor, the only reason for optimism that is currently on the roster.

Kenny Britt is a decent #2 WR if he can stay healthy and Browns have to spend this free agency money somewhere.

Would be interesting if the Browns cut Osweiler and use the new 2nd rounder as part of a deal for Garoppolo.

That said, if the Browns simply cut Osweiler and eat the cap hit, wouldn't that violate the rule against paying for draft picks?

Word is they already cut him.

I'm reading that they're shopping him around. They are offering to eat half of his contract in return for a 2018 3rd round pick.

I'll be honest: if the Browns pull that off I'm going to be really, really impressed.

It's pretty clear how ignorant you are of the Browns; it's not like the situation they are in is new by any means.

If Dobbs goes to them and it starting next year, it will mostly likely be because the guy in front of him got hurt, they suck, and he'll be running for his life.

Now only if they could draft right over the next 2 years, they could find themselves in the superbowl by 2020.

Browns have wisely loaded up on draft picks in 2 of the best drafts in recent memory.

Britt's a wacko head case who's never done much of anything in the league. Had by far his best season last year when he averaged 4 catches and 62 yards per game ...... #2 actually describes him pretty well.

You have to think that an orginization in the NFL had to smell something or get some kind of rumblings to take that money for Brock O... Great deal by Houston and if the browns can swap him incredible deal by Cleveland.
