A thread was started on VQ about Hurd's moms tweet about Kamara. And she came on and posted this...

Classy! Wasn't one of my finer moments. That's for sure.

Let me paint a quick picture for you all, so you can see what I live with everyday. Oh, and thanks for the tag, I would hate to miss another high quality bashing session. Some poster above said that they saw Jalen at a club recently. He said he looked "real skinny", then the thread continues on and implies that "he's on something". So, I firmly expect to wake up to now read all over the internet that my son is on drugs. lol. Do you see how that works? How someone starts a rumor and then it turns into the truth. It's sad, but that's how it is. The TRUTH is that Jalen has purposely leaned down because he wants to play WR. He's training very hard to continue his dreams of playing football.

When Jalen left, I expected the quitter stuff. I see it, hear it, read it everyday. Sure, its hard for a parent to constantly feel the never-ending criticism of your kid, but you expect that when they leave mid-season. What I didn't expect was people making up random stories (cussing out coaches, getting benched, kicked off the team, problems with teammates, etc.) to be written and people so eagerly accept that as the truth. Jalen had his reasons for leaving, but I can promise you that it had nothing to do with anything remotely disciplinary. And honestly, if you knew why, it wouldn't be Jalen that you would be upset with.

As for my comment today, it was in response to someone (one again) trashing Jalen. It was not meant to be derogatory towards Alvin as I wish him all the best. It was a follow-up on the million dollar question about why he never played that much. There are many reasons that Alvin did not play a lot. I won't discuss those here, but it's obvious that there were quite a few things that kept him from the field.

So, flame away. It is what it is. I'm sorry that my son left, but I know why he did, and now I support his decision to move forward with what he thinks is best for his life.

Don't know the back story, but definitely remember that Kamara was always publicly respectful to Hurd, regardless that he was that talented and backed him up.

Yes - things are testy with the Hurd situation. That said, I posted back then (from a VFL friend) that he was planning to sit out a year and transfer while working on this position change. The initial indication was TE or WR. Looks like he chose WR.

Good luck to him.

Kamara may well take his spot and bump him down a round or two. But I dunno. Drafts are the weirdest things in the world to try and predict.

Kamara and McCaffrey are both going in the first round. Same with Fournette and Cook. And if not for the off-field issues Joe Mixon would also be a first rounder.

My favorite RB not expected to go in the first round is John Conner (Pittsburgh). That kid will be a star in the NFL.

Eh **** McCaffrey dude is so overrated there's at least 10 rb's I would take this draft over him

Nah. McCaffrey is special. Top 3 RB in this class.

Here is how I rate the top RBs this year:

1. Alvin Kamara (Tennessee)
2. Joe Mixon (Oklahoma)
3. Christian McCaffrey (Stanford)
4. John Conner (Pittsburgh)
5. Leonard Fournette (LSU)
6. Dalvin Cook (FSU)

All six are first round talents.

Why do we have to keep hearing about Hurd? The South Carolina game happens, and then Hurd leaves. Common sense.

didnt get any inside info on the QB competition. Hopefully this isn't a statement by him that he doesn't think they're very good

Made perfect sense to me, completing passes is largely dependent on timing and not knowing for sure who the starter is going to be, that timing would be questionable. If we end up playing two QB's especially in the early part of the year there is a good chance his numbers may be down some and that is all anyone will remember, is how his numbers fell his last year.

Not an ideal situation for Malone, I would probably make the same decision as he did under the same situation. If Dobbs had another year and was coming back, he would have stayed another year.. IMO, JMO Not stating facts..

Lol at whoever claims Barnes would retire because of the AD hire. He just gave an exclusive interview the other day praising the hire because his former TX mentor told him it's a HR hire and that was enough for him to be excited. He is going to have a very good team next year and has his highest rated recruit since being at TN coming in. Smh at people that make up rumors.

And then some worrying about what a school might say about Kamara? I mean you seriously can't negative recruit that they have a first rd pick. That would be dumb and back fire. It's an easy explanation. Kamara isn't a guy you give ball to 25-30 times again if you want him to be available all year. He got hurt halfway through year. He was behind what should have been the leading rusher of all time at TN and a guy that would be talked about in top3 rds himself had he not quit. We're there certain games he deserved more carries absolutely. But this crap about totally misusing him is hilarious considering numbers he and his running mates put up. If that doesn't work tell them that's why the old bald guy is at Indiana now
