Classy! Wasn't one of my finer moments. That's for sure.
Let me paint a quick picture for you all, so you can see what I live with everyday. Oh, and thanks for the tag, I would hate to miss another high quality bashing session. Some poster above said that they saw Jalen at a club recently. He said he looked "real skinny", then the thread continues on and implies that "he's on something". So, I firmly expect to wake up to now read all over the internet that my son is on drugs. lol. Do you see how that works? How someone starts a rumor and then it turns into the truth. It's sad, but that's how it is. The TRUTH is that Jalen has purposely leaned down because he wants to play WR. He's training very hard to continue his dreams of playing football.
When Jalen left, I expected the quitter stuff. I see it, hear it, read it everyday. Sure, its hard for a parent to constantly feel the never-ending criticism of your kid, but you expect that when they leave mid-season. What I didn't expect was people making up random stories (cussing out coaches, getting benched, kicked off the team, problems with teammates, etc.) to be written and people so eagerly accept that as the truth. Jalen had his reasons for leaving, but I can promise you that it had nothing to do with anything remotely disciplinary. And honestly, if you knew why, it wouldn't be Jalen that you would be upset with.
As for my comment today, it was in response to someone (one again) trashing Jalen. It was not meant to be derogatory towards Alvin as I wish him all the best. It was a follow-up on the million dollar question about why he never played that much. There are many reasons that Alvin did not play a lot. I won't discuss those here, but it's obvious that there were quite a few things that kept him from the field.
So, flame away. It is what it is. I'm sorry that my son left, but I know why he did, and now I support his decision to move forward with what he thinks is best for his life.
