I agree, I hope for the best, but the things that have come out have me nervous. I wonder if Bev knows how much a lot of UT fans hate her today 😂

Hate is a strong word but probably accurate for some some of the extremists.
Using power 5 experience as a prerequisite to do a good job, makes me skeptical. Given I didn't hear anything about that when she took her job without such.

I wonder how an AD can be held to the standard to "make winning the biggest priority" and simultaneously be "too involved" or "meddling" with the programs.

Lol.

Talking about AD duties isn't something we really understand enough to really discuss with any kind of intelligence. None of us really

Holy cow. So many opinions from people with so little knowledge.

I don't trust the interview from the K State beat writer. The beat writers and the interviewers seemed to have an agenda.

He's the AD --- just like Trump is our president. Suck it up and support them. Or don't. Either way, you have no say in the matter. None. Zero.

Let's talk about the quarterback offers or the position competition this spring. But this horse is dead. Time to move on.

Neither do you have any say in the matter regarding "quarterback offers or the position competition this spring", but since this is a chat board we discuss everything whether it is your agenda or not.

Agreed. However, I speak weekly with a mid major AD and I'm pretty sure he does more than send out an email every game day reminding his various coaches to "win."

Must be some reason why the coaches at K State, even the ones that he hired, are glad that he's gone, right? I mean, maybe the beat writer was lying, but the cast of characters quoted in the announcement are a strange group. No basketball, football or baseball coaches for instance

Not sure that power 5 experience has any bearing on a university chancellor. Last time I checked, Harvard was not a power 5 school, but I think we would be ok with their chancellor.

And last time I checked Missouri is a power 5 school and I don't want their AD.
So seems a silly prerequisite.

I just read them. If these replies to her tweet are what constitutes our fan base, we really don't deserve anything nice. I question the hiring, but the spitefulness and vitriol of the responses goes way beyond the pale.

Guys, the made up prerequisite for the job was just so she could hire who she wanted and had a reason to eliminate the popular candidates.

David Blackburn - no P5 experience
Phil Fulmer - no AD experience

Boom. Two birds with one stone.

The underhandedness at play in this whole deal should tell you a lot about how this thing went down. The search firm was a farce as was the search committee. In the end, about 3 people made this hire. Jimmy Haslam and Beverly Davenport were two. I believe Donna Thomas was the third.
