TBH I'm looking around and if we pulled Joker Philips from the bearcats I would consider that we could do a lot worse. He's been doing good work for a LOOOOONG time and he's a good coach. Bearcats get exceptional production from their pass game.

Not like it is totally unexpected. When you choose between two of your own to promote and the senior guy gets passed over, he will almost always jump if an offer comes his way.

Butch sounded in his statement like it wasn't unexpected to him. Either he has someone in mind, or he is BSing. The flies on the wall should note a visitor within 72 hours if so.

Kippy Brown or the wide receivers coach for Georgia could be good replacements for Azzani and good luck to him with the Chicago Bears organization.

Here's a clue. We are not getting kippy or the Georgia coach, and nobody who has ever associated themselves with crimson better set foot on this coaching staff. Let's get realistic, Joker Philips has always gotten good offensive production. He's a good coach. I would be happy to give him a shot.

Somewhat difficult to change your mind on your offensive scheme, if you don't already have one in place that you can change your mind on.

Kiffin was already on board before Saban changed his outlook on the spread offense, and decided he wanted to implement portions of it.

bearded, it'd be no different if shoop up and decided he wanted to run a 3-4, and butch said "ok". that'd be the equivalent of what Saban and Kiffin did by running the type of offense they did this year.

I did read online that craig didn't take the Oregon job because he wanted to be an oc. Don't know if he would settle for passing game coordinator/wr coach. Maybe CO-OC? Would kind of doubt that as well.

I think some of us are sick of hearing about Cincinnati. Please let's stop poaching from this very, very mediocre school and program. If we are holding them up as the gold standard my Alma mater is in deep doo doo.

There are NOT a whole lot of guys about to fill this role right now buddy. Most have been signed at this point into contracts that they can't back out of and they want to be OC... not wide out coaches. Joker philips hits all the marks and would be perfect for the position, although that maryland guy is interesting too.

You are not going to get les miles as wide out coach people. get real.
