Azzanni Departing to NFL

Here are quotes for ZA leaving and a new hire.

This deal with Azzanni happened quickly. This has not been lingering out there. Interviews took place on Friday or Monday and Azzanni apparently accepted the position late last night. But wanted to tell his WR's first as well as the team and he did get to do that this morning. It was something that wanted to have happen the right way which is why it didn't leak out last night. He kept it close in order for his players to hear it first directly from him.

Now, as fans wish him luck the question is what direction does Jones turn. Remember, Jones is a former receivers coach and has more ties to that position in coaching than any other. He also really knows what he wants/expects out of a receivers coach."

and

"we will begin the process of filling this position immediately. It’s a position we want to fill as quickly as we can, but we also want to go through the detailed process, which we will."

Yall are missing key point if u can't get off press coverage running the route is of no concern...lol...it was little better this year but rest years were absolutely horrid getting off press

Does that fall under coaching or recruiting? I was agreeing with Count under the auspice of we need better technical coaching of our WRs.

I don't know Malone and crew were pretty well ranked and offer list was solid...I have think coaching.but I'm definitely no expert

Coaching and a limited downfield threat at QB put a damper on what the WRs could do.

Dobbs was victimized quite often by drops out of his WRs too. North, Malone, Jennings, and the rest have been less than the sum of their parts. In spots they made big plays but they were not a consistent threat that a defense had to worry about. Part of that is on Dobbs though, to be honest.

Really took 3 years for Malone to be a beast. Jennings emerged in his second year but that was a position change. What do we blame for unrealized Marquez North? I'd swing for personal failure, but could a better TEACHER have got him back on board? Kinda torn myself. Charlie Baggett was an excellent teacher but disappointing recruiter...maybe a better balance?

Saban doesn't have "an offense". just like Jones doesn't have "a defense".

That's just not the case he has control over both sides of the ball, he's just more hands-on with the defensive side. It is evidenced by both the number of OC hires, varying levels of experience who run the system that Saban has laid out for them.

Eh... you only have like two good seasons in your history and you blow the biggest Super Bowl lead in a loss ever.. Yep it sucks

I'm a Braves fan. No one ever convinced me my team sucked for losing World Series. I'd rejoinder them with "what about the teams we beat to get there?" In any case, look as hopeless as my Bears and get back to me. :thud:

An elite passing game starts at the QB.

Did PM make his receivers look great or did his receivers make him look great?

Interesting quotes here (not Butch's, the first ones). Find it interesting it moved that quickly and wasn't a more drawn out process. Makes sense in a way I suppose, but still. Surprised it wasn't something that had been brewing since Scott was promoted.

Once again Volnation is proven wrong about a coach. Bajakian was crap but he goes to NFL, De"bored" captained one of the most prolific offenses in UT history straight off his couch, now azziani moves up to NFL but according to Volnation geniuses he is awful. Lol this place never fails to amuse.

You're right. Th they should rename all awards in some way to anyone coaching at Tennessee Bc I mean it's tennessee
They're all the greatest right?

Next person to say Dooley gets punched in the ear. Let's think hard about some
Of the best wide receiver groups in recent history and go from there.
