TrumPutinGate

Muh Russians!

“it is not clear whether the intercepted communications had anything to do with Mr. Trump’s campaign, or Mr. Trump himself.”

Worse than fake news. Rehashed fake news. The "anonymous" sources have transcripts. Why don't they release them?

I suspect this whole Russian connection scare is a shell game being played on the public by the Washington power structure simply to delegitimize the Trump presidency.

So, while I was on Elba, it came out that the conversations between Russian intel figures reported in the Steele dossier did indeed occur. It should be noted that these conversations, as alleged by the dossier, concern the "cultivation" of Trump, contacts between Trump associates and Russian intel/financial assets, and negotiations of terms for quid-pro-quo between Trump and the Kremlin.

But I'm sure those are the only parts of the dossier that are factual. The rest is all just made up fake news, no doubt.

Oh really.

Oh really.

Yeah, it's all just fake news.

See, a 4chan poster just made it up and posted it online. Then, Rick Wilson, a NeverTrumper, saw it and passed it along to his buddy, former Independent presidential candidate and NeverTrumper, Evan McMullin. The latter, a former CIA operative, then alerted his buddies over at the CIA of the dossier, and that's how it got leaked to Buzzfeed and the press. 4chan merely trolled the "Deep State," and now it's freaking out over fake news.

Or so I was told.

For the record, those on this forum who have drug the men and women of our IC through the mud, here and elsewhere, for being part of the "Deep State" and for attempting to take down a sitting president on behalf of the "Establishment," or whatever flavor of the month it is with you people, you should bear in mind that these individuals have kept you and your nation out of war and have kept you and your family members safe from terror attacks far more than they have purposely gotten us into any of these (if ever).

You should be ashamed of yourself. Utterly disgraceful and incomprehensibly ungrateful. Unpatriotic to boot.

I was waiting for the shoe to drop, didn't know if it ever would, but it finally did. The first domino has been tipped over, either with the leaks that Trump isn't receiving full intel (out of fear he or close staff will compromise American intel to the Kremlin) or with Flynn (the latter, however, I'm not completely convinced wasn't a Bannon leak).

Nonetheless, the first domino has been set in motion and now more will surely follow, all the way to the top, if successful.

The IC has issued congress, especially House Republicans, an ultimatum: either you do the job the American people elected you to do and protect our Constitution or we will do your job for you. See, contrary to popular myth and Hollywood depictions, I don't think the vast majority of intelligence folks are seeking nefarious ends. There are bad eggs, no doubt, but the majority are patriots sworn to protect the Constitution, not any one president. They don't want to have to do politicians' jobs for them.

But if corrupt Washington politicians are going to place partisanship before nation, then the IC's hand will be forced.

I think now we will most likely see one of the following scenarios play out:

1. The Senate and House both get on board with investigations into Russian interference in the election as well as Trump's associations with Russian intelligence services.
2. The House does not get on board with these investigations in a timely manner, and the really damaging leaks that will ultimately take down Trump come.

In Scenario 1, this will be a drawn-out event, possibly delaying Trump's impeachment and possible arrest for months. Maybe even a solid year.

In Scenario 2, the Trump presidency comes to an end pretty quickly. Probably within the next two to three months.

I agree that there should not have been a need for a leak if the President would have done his job and addressed the situation when presented with the evidence from the IC. Trump might not have needed to fire Flynn because what Flynn did was not so bad that the American people couldn't get over it easily. But as we know Trump would have been bigly happy to just ignore it, and thus the IC had to leak to the American people through the press. Praise the IC because they are doing their best to protect us from enemies both foreign and domestic.

The IC told congress that the sh!t storm is coming and they better do their jobs or it will be a sh!tnado.

You guys don't make any sense. Flynn didn't do anything wrong (sans mislead the VP), yet the IC HAD to leak the info to protect us from... something that wasn't a big deal.

The IC is part of the establish, whore-mongering deep state, which is trying to undermine Trump through narrative. They are weakening our country for personal motives.

1. That same IC bogeyman you casually berate keeps you and your family members safe at night from major wars and from terrorism. (As Sun Tzu said, spies are necessary to prevent war, so as to defeat the enemy before combat is required.)

2. Flynn's five phone calls in question, presumably, in your post, are only drops in the bucket of his alleged contacts with the Kremlin.

To date, we know he has had consistent contact with the Kremlin during the campaign. We know that he lied to the FBI but then claimed he might be remembering incorrectly (to which FBI said "good enough," but I don't buy that one bit). We know that he didn't get proper clearance to go rally for Putin's propaganda machine in Moscow, along with Jill Stein. And we also now know he received $40,000 from the Kremlin for that little unpatriotic venture.

And this is all we, you and me, know. There's no telling what he has been doing that you and I don't yet know about.

Prove it.

You say a lot, all of which boils down to things that exist in the six inches between your ears.

The logan act and like I said not unforgivable.

When the R control the Executive, House, Senate, and shortly the Judicial there goes all checks and balances of our government. And you want to sit there and try to discredit the only thing we the people have to protect us citizens form our government because they are the "establish, whore-mongering deep state". The IC was formed to protect the citizens of this country not the government.

Edit: Retracted rude statement.
