'18 TN DT Brant Lawless

I spoke with his mom and they love UT. He's no where near the 270 he's listed at, lol. Big kid with a great demeanor and always smiling. If they play their cards right i think this is one they can seal the deal with early.

Awesome. Thanks de1

A friend of mine's son played with this kid at Nashville Christian. If you think he is nasty on the DLine, you should him with the ball in his hands. A lot of kids make business decisions when he gets loose.

I think it helps that he is close to Daniel.

But is he a "quick twitch" kid with a "high motor"?

5 star yet??

Saw some videos on twitter of this kid playing basketball. He can move really well for a big guy on the court.

Seems like almost every instate player fell with the exception of Ogle-Kellogg and Teague.

That's what I noticed when I updated the recruits from my recruiting thread. Hardly any of them went up. What's up with that? A few did stay the same though but not many. Some fell over 100 spots which is insanely ridiculous. I'm talking about all recruits & not just in-state ones.

What are you talking about? My post was not a reference to UT. I was saying 247 Sports dropped the rankings of nearly every recruit & not only the recruits from the state of Tennessee. Am I missing something from your meaning out of that post? Thanks!

No problem man. We all do that on here. Either misread posts or at times just don't understand what the poster has to say. It's the internet & things like this happen. Thanks bud.

Nashville Christian defensive lineman Brant Lawless was one of the first to talk to Hoke and was happy to hear from him. "It's a pretty cool thing," Lawless said. "It's a pretty cool process and makes you want to work harder. It makes you want to put more work in because you are one of the top guys out there. I want to put in more work to be one top guys out there."

"He had a good personality," Lawless said. "He was straight out and reached out and told me I was one of the top guys he is looking at. I'm a priority for him in the class of 2018. I'm excited to build a relationship with him and get to meet him. He was very outgoing and excited. That's always good to see."

Lawless doesn't get caught in the recruiting process. Must like his old teammate, Daniel Bituli, Lawless just stays laid back and refuses to let the hoopla effect him. "I look at it as I was always taught to be humble," Lawless said. "A lot of guys want to be seen and known about, but I just want to play the game and if I get heard about then that's a bonus. If I'm playing good then, I let that work for me."

"When you go to Tennessee you feel like you are at home," Lawless said. "It's always a great feeling to go anywhere that you feel at home. That's how I feel there. All the love and great people that are there. How they are building it and how great it's becoming is real nice and you feel like home when you go down there."

Lawless can't attend the first UT Junior Day because of basketball but will attend the next one on March 4th.
