Kind of hard to pile on if the charges were dropped anyway.

Plus, I'm sure all posters on VN are saints and never have done a single thing considered wrong.

I, for one, have a hard time keeping my wings tucked and that halo is so damn shiny. Being an angel isn't easy.

Oops! I said damn. I shall now turn in my fan card and denounce any affiliation with all that is UT and join the rest of you heathans.

The big deal, to me, is not Mr. Wells. It's the seemingly poor decision of the administration/ program to promote this guy over someone with a better resume and no arrests. There's room to disagree on this...I just don't think it shows good judgement on their part.

CBJ doesn't seem to lik change much. Wells had shown himself valuable, and CBJ has rewarded him for it. It was dismissed, so I feel like that's why it never was an issue. Who knows, maybe it served as a wake-up call and caused him to give up drinking.

I'm not here to hammer the guy....Mistakes happen.

The unbelievable thing is the uneccesary bad press this program and administration continues to heap on itself.

I don't think the university cause local yellow journalists to dig through trash cans for events that happened a year ago.

We should hold him accountable for his actions. That is part of what it means to be an adult. It's an idiotic thing for him to have done could have killed someone. Pretty ignorant of someone to brush over something this serious.

So what does this mean exactly? More public shaming a year later? Fire him right after we hired him? As for the 'could have killed someone' comment, but he didn't. Had he done that it would have been manslaughter. And apparently this was brushed over a year ago when it happened. So why bring it up now?

See my post above his for general VN over reaction to anything negative.

I'm already seeing names in the FF that wanted Petrino or the guy from Baylor. Funny how morals seem to change based on whether or not you like the current coach.

It's doubtful this wasn't known about a year ago...It just didn't become pertinent to anybody until our administration had the good judgement to promote him.

Exactly. Hard to take hypocrites seriously when they attempt to take the moral high ground. People like that are jokes.

He was with the team last year. I would say it was more pertinent then than it is now. I get that you live to bash the program, but you need to take the blinders off on this one. This is Jimmy stirring it up trying to pretend he is on Dateline.

Wow.

Nothing left to say here.

I wonder if the same FF axe-grinders will also admit that a majority of them wanted current Texas HC (lol, fired) Charlie Strong. Talk about dodging a bullet.

I am glad so many live such perfect lives that you can cast the first stone at someone rather than dealing with your own problems. I bet some of the most negative comments come from folks who are in their houses of worship every time the door is open.
