The only place we should decline on the line will be where Barnett was. The rest should be as good or better due to the injuries we had. I guess you can't take injuries into consideration when making your know it all comments though. 🙄
So is Michigan losing to Iowa. A&M losing to Ole Miss. Clemson losing to Pitt. Etc, etc, etc.
It happens. But you have too much negativity in your one track mind to understand that.
I asked you a reasonable question and its a know it all comment huh? Seems you are prepping yourself to make me out as an unreasonable poster because you have no debate for what im saying. Barnett is an all time great, we lost Vereen who was a very good player. We lost DOB. So now we will have two unproven DE to go along with 2 DT that project to be very good but have been injury prone, have looked good at times but havent proven to be great yet. So yeah, totally unreasonable to think Dline play might decline.
Im not a Michigan, A&M or Clemson fan. Im a Tennessee fan, in football and basketball by the way and losing to Vandy is a negative. The margin to be considered a successful coach is small. Had CBJ won the Vandy game in 13, putting us in a bowl, beat Florida last season, our won one of the other games where we had a 14 point lead, won the east this year the lose to Vandy this year might not be too bad and you could chalk it up to one of those games that just happen. Unfortunately for us, the seem to happen to CBJ every year.
So surely you wanted Fulmer fired in the 90's when he couldn't beat Florida, lost to Memphis, got embarrassed by Nebraska and Penn State in bowls and basically lucked into a title in 98? I'm just asking. Fulmer way underperformed with the talent he had and the state of the SEC, much moreso than Butch has done. And the program was head and shoulders when Fulmer took over than when Butch did.
People like you generate negtive comments by trashing people with a different opinion than you. Just like this one, i simply asked you if it was reasonable to believe Dline play might decline this year and you immidiatly lauch into negative comments towards me, which does nothing. You can trash me all you want, doesnt bother me at all. Its quite assuming actually to watch people trash me and others like me, yet never refute anything i say.Your comments are continually negative. However, I'll answer your question. We have as highly rated players lined up to play on defense as we lost to graduation and the draft. That doesn't mean they will be better, but they can certainly do as good. Barnett will be the toughest loss no doubt. Considering JRM and CS both played so little last year, it's not that big of a hit. Danny O'brien? He missed half the year. Johnson should be able to replace him as the 3rd DT rather easily. Taylor, Kongbo, Kahlil, Tuttle on the line. We have numerous DBs who will improve with better coaching. Losing JRM hurts, but he'll, he didn't hardly play last year. Then on top of that we should get DK back all year. I personally think our defense will be much better this year.
I absolutely enjoy these types of discussions, it's the comments from so many posters over and over trashing our team that I'm tired of. So anytime anyone makes numerous negative posts like BOB, Wylo, and many others, I'm going to say something. No offense to you personally, but you're usually pretty negative. Anyway, peace.

Was there a particular reason that you typed my name in caps? Just wondering.
You left off Corey Vereen, and I'm guessing that by "CRM", you mean JRM. If you'll recall, without Sutton and JRM, and the injuries at DT our defense went from "meh-ok-should be a lot better" to "OMFG everyone is settings offensive records against us bad"
Now stay with me here, we are going to get a few of those guys back who were injured, but we don't have any replacements that are up to par with Barnett and Vereen, or Sutton and JRM really. And players like Quarte Sapp who had 4 games in 2015, and were out the entire season are a huge unknown.
That's not to say that some of these guys won't improve, but as it stands, next year at almost every position group, we have are starting out with a less-talented player in 2017 than we did in 2016.
There's some hope that Warren can reverse the damage that Martinez did over 4 years, but that's a lot to overcome in a short amount of time.
I beg you to find a single post from me saying i want CBJ fired...please do.
But to your point no, CPF had equity. The had multiple 10 win season and he didnt luck into a championship, you can make that argument for ever championship team, its BS, they did what they had to do, period.
But again, please find a post of me saying CBJ should be fired.

This was your argument and its reasonable, might differs only becuase i put little stock in players potential that havent played much college football. Could be because of what ive seen from CBJ coached teams the last 4 years, could be because i dont follow recruiting much at all. Im hopeful they improve but ill believe it when i see it. Should be able to tell in game one, because defending DT takes a sound disciplined team.
90s FL and Neb > 16 SC and VU. Not close. And fans were ticked at the prevent defense against FL then and wanted change. FL had better or equal talent then. Memphis was bad and had their been replay the.dude's knee was down. Also the 90s team would have been in NY6 bowls if today.
We are 4 yrs past the Dooley yrs. Dooley is not the reason we botched chances of ATL twice in yr 3 & 4...imo
We will be lucky to pull off a winning record. Even if they do manage 6-6 I'm willing to bet we will get crushed in a bowl game.
We've done as good as we have the last 3 years because he had Barnett all over the QB, had Hurd throwing defenders in the air, and Josh Malone running silky smooth routes. We now enter a season without any of those, on top of losing a QB that could turn the weakness of the Oline into big gains.
I guarantee we will start the year 0-1 as GT is hyping themselves up as an SEC killer and Butch will have TONS of excuses to throw around after his staff befuddles another game.
Wrong wrong wrong.
This team will have more balance on offense. And have more depth and experience on defense.
So no.
And the people that liked your comment shouldn't have an opinion.
