Let's roll! Plus, if the 10th assistant coach rule passes, I'm guessing Butch would add the extra coach on that side of the ball. That's a very solid defensive staff.

Hope that rule passes - it's long overdue with how big CFB has become.

I would be very content with that D-staff. That's a group that should be able to recruit, develop, and compete at an elite level if they stay together. I like Hoke coming in since he can go LB or DL. I have to think he and Shoop can get on the same page quickly.

Agreed. Hoke and Warren are potentially huge additions. There's a lot to like about the moves on the defensive side of the ball, especially if they manage to keep Stripling on staff in some capacity. I could see them getting George Barlow if that 10th spot opens, he's coached both LB's and DB's before.

On offense, they can't get an upgrade in the OL coaching quick enough. I'd feel a lot better if they were to upgrade the WR coaching as well.

Do y'all think Hoke is a better DL coach or LB coach? He played LB in college but hasn't he had more experience in DL coaching? Either one would I think would be a great hire but I would love it if Strip stayed too. The staff as a whole would be a big upgrade over last year if we kept Strip and replaced Thig.

I think the tenth door will go towards offense. Probably another line coach or WR coach.

Only about 5% of prescription pain Rx are being given to drug abusers...yet the other 95% of legitimate patients are being ostracized by all this.

A bigger problem in my opinion are the people that are lying to the physicians in order to get the narcotics for the purpose of then selling them.

That's really a poverty issue tho. I knew a guy whose body was physically destroyed by working in coal mining. He'd sell half his meds just to be able to buy his meds and sometimes he'd sell some just to pay his other bills. Whenever I think of getting mad about that I think about my great-grandfather who became a moonshiner for a time but he did so to keep his family fed and to pay for the high cost of medical care for one of my great-aunts who had mental issues and had to be taken to Lakeshore for treatment. (Needless to say, psychiatric treatment was even more impossible to get and expensive back then).

And really, most of the illegal market doesn't come from doctors/patients but from various criminal operations that smuggle drugs into the country from Mexico, Canada, and elsewhere. It's just easier to make life difficult for doctors than it is to shut smuggler's down.

It's not so bad when the entire quote is used: "We want five-star hearts and five-star competitors."

Of course, the whole quote isn't funny, only by parsing it is it mockable.

I like the idea behind it, actually.

I just think the way he tries to compress his message into slogans sometimes lends itself to a Twitter-based society mocking his message.

A lot of people have talked about how Tom Herman basically said the same thing as Butch. The only real difference is that Herman's quote can't really be broken down and quoted into ~50 characters, allowing space for a mocking message to be entered in a tweet along with the quote.

I just wish Butch would speak off the cuff a bit more instead of going the catchphrase route at every opportunity.

It's not that what he says bothers me, really. It's that trying to force his message and catchy slogans either gives the perception that he lacks the awareness to understand how his words will be taken or that he's incapable of speaking frankly and showing his real personality.

In the pst we've heard recruits rave about how much they love Butch (even the ones who decide on other schools). So we know he must have some personality. I wish he'd just let it shine through a bit more often.

In other words, the season didn't pan out so now the groaners are looking for something to groan about.

In other words, if you do your main job well I don't pay attention to the stupid things you say in front of a microphone. When you suck at your job, I realize you suck and you say stupid things in front of a mic.

I agree, and what is wrong with heart? Certainly you can make a case for Rick Barnes Basketball team, who was picked to be second to last.

I know I could do some light skimming of the thread, but I'd rather someone break it down.

Any immediate impact players?

Did we feel needs?

:hat:
