That has more merit.

The average star ranking is only used by eeyores right now because it's fits the narrative.

Magically we could cut our 8 lower rates commits and we would instantly become better in that stat especially on Rivals. Class would be worse but the star average would be better.

The class is what it is.

I love how I've been called an eeyore even though I've been here a decade and have always leaned positive. I pointed out numerical truths. That's all.

Not all 3 stars are created equal. The 3 star Butch is getting have a much better offer list and set of suitors than Dooleys. Dooley was beating out Arky st and crap like that. Majority of Butch 3 stars have high level power 5 offers. I don't even care for the guy but to compare his classes to Dooley is a damn joke

That's what he said?
That's why having a large class with lowers added on, drops your average.

Your second sentence is true. The larger the class the more chance the average drops. This is still the worst average star rating we've had since 2008.

Now, I'm not saying it even means anything. But based on ratings alone it's a subpar class. I also work in an office for a living so what do I know?

Wasn't really talking about you specifically AZ.

More in general.

That stat is misleading though.

I dont believe it's misleading. I didn't use overall rankings because rivals only ranks team rankings based on top 20 commits.

But people act like they are some super scouts who can predict future production between EJ Abrams Ward and Will Ignont. If they could they should be working in the SEC somewhere.

I wish we had more 4 and 5 stars in this class but will add this.

I will take a class of 3* that come and play for Jones, like Kelly does, over a Dooley class that sits on the bench with their backs to the coach, all day, err'day.

You're right - it's worse.

Current class avg stars on Rivals - 3.29.

Dooley 2012 - 3.41
Dooley 2011 - 3.41
Dooley 2010 - 3.37

Current class Rivals 4* + 5* = 9

Dooley 2012 = 11
Dooley 2011 = 12
Dooley 2010 = 13

Current class avg score on 24/7 composite - 87.14

Dooley 2012 = 88.22
Dooley 2011 = 88.44
Dooley 2010 = 87.22

Current class 4* + 5* on 24/7 composite - 5

Dooley 2012 = 8
Dooley 2011 = 9
Dooley 2010 = 10

Now, one could argue our current staff are better evals, but I don't know. This class is slightly below all 3 Dooley classes and only ranks higher due to sheer size.

But weren't Dooley's classes glaringly missing DT and quality OL?
Lots of highly rated WR and DB, but you need push in the trenches to build championship teams.

I like to look at position rank. We have a bunch ranked 40- 120 on composite. If I didn't know any better and saw that I would think Cincinnati Bearcats. If you look class 2014 and 2015 that.looks more like a Volunteer list
