I dont believe it's misleading. I didn't use overall rankings because rivals only ranks team rankings based on top 20 commits.

But people act like they are some super scouts who can predict future production between EJ Abrams Ward and Will Ignont. If they could they should be working in the SEC somewhere.

Imagine our 7 or 8 lowest rated commits decommitted tomorrow.

Would our class be better or worse?

Would our star average go up or down?

You've got to keep that stat in context when using it is all in saying.

You're picking and choosing to fit your narrative and this year's numbers aren't even final.

So trying to compare Butch's "star" power classes to Dooley's seems a little skewed.

The fact that people can use actual ratings from unbiased sources to draw the comparison should be frightening to all Vol fans. We shouldn't be within spittin' distance of that nightmare.

Lines are definitely better assuming people stay healthy this year. There are some positions where I'm not so sure we're any better, possibly even a dip below but nothing else matters if your lines suck.

Current class avg stars on Rivals - 3.29.

Dooley 2012 - 3.41
Dooley 2011 - 3.41
Dooley 2010 - 3.37

Current class Rivals 4* + 5* = 9

Dooley 2012 = 11
Dooley 2011 = 12
Dooley 2010 = 13

Current class avg score on 24/7 composite - 87.14

Dooley 2012 = 88.22
Dooley 2011 = 88.44
Dooley 2010 = 87.22

Current class 4* + 5* on 24/7 composite - 5

Dooley 2012 = 8
Dooley 2011 = 9
Dooley 2010 = 10

Now, one could argue our current staff are better evals, but I don't know. This class is slightly below all 3 Dooley classes and only ranks higher due to sheer size.

The 2011 Dooley class included 4 star players Cam Clear, Izaeau Lanier, Mo Couch, Deanthony Arnett, and Pat Martin. All of them were gone within a year (Couch may have played a little over a season before suspension). This doesn't even include the 3 stars who left. If this class had defections like that, then we can revisit this. But defections kill a class, and it simply wasn't very good.

Some of y'all need to look further at the facts before posting this stuff.

Edit: you can add Dante Phillips, Devante Bourque, and Deion Bonner in the 2012 class. All four stars.

Sure. There's also been second guessing of Butch recruits. Doesn't mean the majority weren't rationalizing Dooley's classes.

For those of you questioning if our teams are more athletic than under Dooley than butch need to go watch some of the games. We literally got destroyed in the sec under Dooley.
