It does depend on the year. And some years the log jam of teams that are closely rated have a different range.

It's just so close sometimes that a single player can jump you several spots which means that the class was very close to being rated higher.

But reality is that this class isn't great and it isn't terrible no matter what happens tomorrow. Whether we get Ray (unlikely) or not, we need this class to turn out to be evaluated well.

See Catlitter..this how you reasonable post.

This. For example, if we land Ray, it is likely we stay in the top 15. Otherwise, the current class would have us around 20-21 in 2015 and 2016.

Right now the log jam is 9 thru 15 on rivals. 180 point difference between 9 and 15.

The difference between 8 and 9 is 158.

How do you transmit that over the internet? :yuck:

It's easier than you think. I'm creating a solution but it's still in the early stages of development. My new Internet Transmitted Disease protection.... The full office condom!

Heard an interesting stat on Sirius this morning, each super bowl team roster this year has an average 2.8 star rating from their college recruiting.

Kind of a confusing recruiting year. Seemed like there was more drama for big fish in the rebuilding years. There is a kind of "steady as she goes vibe" to this year, but vessel VolNation seemed to have sprung some leaks down the stretch in 2016. A tedious off season of small adjustments just doesn't seem to be setting up as very interesting. Not saying it foretells anything. I guess it's time for new hobbies.

Oh, I was just making a point in general. It could happen on either site. When there is a logjam like that it's splitting hairs.

Gotcha - I mentioned 247 so others wouldn't get confused between what I was stating and what you were stating. In comparison, on 247, it looks like the logjam is from 9th - 16th. Only 17 points separate those teams, so we will likely see some movement with those teams after tomorrow's commitments. With that said, there is very, very little chance we crack the top 10 on 247 (since we are in that group of teams from 16th to 9th) given our numbers and who is left.

Pretty sure Tom Brady would've been a 3*

He would have been pretty highly rated. I think I read somewhere that he had 50+ offers and had a final 3 of UCLA, USC, and Michigan.

1995 tops 1998 as Michigan?s best recruiting class

Article about Michigans best recruiting classes that mentions that Brady was actually high recruited and the few publications that existed then would have mad him a solid 4*.

You made the arduous trip all the way from the FF to grace us with this gem of a post??? Next you'll tell us all about how you only live in your mom's basement because she needs you to help around the house.

Interesting. I wonder what the average star rating of the college football CG was. That would seem more applicable.

I could understand deleting utvols88's post. The guy doesn't drink coffee thus making him a dirty heathen! But Glitch? He is a national treasure!
