Lance Zerlien's take on Barnett from same article..

Barnett, who broke Reggie White's UT career sacks record last season, is powerful, but also has deft hand work that can gain him a quick win. Pass rushing on the pro level isn't only about speed and edge-bending -- it's also about strength and hand skills. Barnett takes efficient routes to the quarterback and his ability to stand up as a run defender should not be underestimated. The production he posted over three years in the SEC wasn't an accident. He'll be a good pro starter.

What was the knock on the gay DE from Missouri a few years back?

From his NFL.com pre draft profile

Lacks burst and acceleration off the edge to get a step on blockers and finish. Sack production results from effort and production flushed to him and is not creatively produced with savvy pass-rush moves, speed, power or bend. Average hip flexibility and snap -- struggles clearing his hips at the top of his rush and trimming the corner. Adequate anchor vs. the run. Is late to disengage from blocks. Does not strike with authority. Inconsistent tackler. Late bloomer who could require time to adapt to the pro game. Poor combine showing -- bench-pressed 225 pounds just 17 times, recorded a 7.8-second 3-cone drill and posted an abysmal 25 1/2-inch vertical jump.

To all. Anyone who follows recruiting knows this.

If you are on this board at all you see that point pile driven into oblivion regularly.

Nobody in their right mind thinks otherwise. My wife can tell you why Bama is good. They have the best players. Duh.

Not a point just about Bama. I've seen posters rationalizing lower rated classes.

Let them.

It's literally tiresome to come into almost every thread everyday to see the same people beating the same dead horse.

You're wasting time your time as soon as you hit "post reply" or "quote" in order to respond to someone rationalizing our current class, for example, versus Bamas.

Sad too. The RF used to be a refuge from the overwhelmingly insanity that prevailed in the FF but...not anymore, and it's just a handful of posters.

But the offseason makes the crazies come out in droves, that's normal.

That's pure hogwash. That assessment is the opposite of what he is. Barnett has one of the quickest get-offs I've seen ( I know, twss ) and almost always goes around the OT, not overpower him. I honestly think this garbage is because people look at him and he doesn't LOOK like Garret, so he can't be explosive.

Its also probably because half these analysts don't look at Garrett and just say what everyone has been saying since he was a 5* recruit.
