If Kongbo buys into playing D tackle for an entire year like he did in the bowl game he will be special inside. Could be a stronger faster Malik Jackson.

Kongbo can play every down inside and allow for supreme versatility and help save snaps and allow Mack & tuttle to rotate more
Agreed. He should stay in there full time

He could even play DE on certain downs depending on down and distance to really throw OL off.

Really looking forward to what Rock does with these guys in the weight room!!!

I'm rooting for Canales and Scott. I hope they kick butt and make the streets flow with the blood of the non-believers.

LOL, I like canales as a QB coach. I'm definitely not all in on Scott as OC though, so my blood would be counted in the streets

So be it. Lol. Seriously though, I really, really, really hope they do well, and I think it's quite possible. I feel like these guys gel and we're going to get some new improved sauce on offense.

I don't even really consider Kiffy or anyone that coached with him to truly be former UT anythings. I've had bowel movements last longer than their tenure here.

This may be the perfect post. It totally epitomized everything about those months.
Thank you sir!
Maybe this should be stickied to the beginning of any thread regarding kiffin or any of his minions

Don't know why I did this, but I pulled up Kelly, Kamara and Hurds bios. Statistically John Kelly is a much better back for this system than Hurd was.

Kelly had 98 carries in 12 games for a total of 630 yds or 6.4 yds per carry.

Hurd had 122 carries in 7 games for a total of 451 yds or 3.7 yds per carry.

If Kelly had Hurds 122 carries (before you argue...Hurd carried the ball 277 times last year) that would give him 220 carries. If his average held true...that's 1408 yds.

That's it I'm pumped for this running game next year. Bring on Q, or a J, for a passing game and we go undefeated

Well that's a hell of a tweet

Also interesting.

In 2105 those three ran the ball 424 times for 2151 yds. In 2016 the same three only ran the ball 323 times for 1677 yds. Kelly and Kamara averaged 6.1 yds per carry between the two of them. Had they been the ones running the rock (without Hurd) we would have had 1970 yds or 300 more yds on the ground for the season.

Had Kamara and Kelly ran the 424 times that was run in 2015...using last years numbers, they would have had 2247 yds. 100 more than we actually had last year of RB production.

One thing that definitely favors Kelly over Jalen is balance. Hurd could take a hit from the waist up, maybe even thigh area, and keep on. Shoestring tackles or anything near the lower legs and it just tripped him up.
Jk seems to shift, pull his leg out and keep going.

First...It would have to be a long plane delay to be quicker to drive.

Second... Anyone know who was he visiting?

It was mention in the MIZZOU game, I think, that Dobbs had a huge project due the week of the SCar game and was up until around 2 in the library a couple of times that week and was subsequently tired an unprepared for the game. We still should have won that game but between that and Hurd quitting at halftime that performance is a little more understandable. Still should have beaten SCar.
These two things seem to get completely dismissed any time this is discussed, but it obviously had a huge impact.

Always thought that was odd too. He would bowl you over if you hit him, but touch his shoe and down he went.

They ran the ball 424 times at the age of 120 man that's impressive

I think he's just really excited. I mean, he can go after kids with talent he could only dream of at his old schools.

This scouting report of Dobbs proves why Debord did some good things, but he was not great. Why not more slants? 6 of 8 passes over 40 yards were touchdowns, why not more deep balls? These things and the underuse of Kamara were his major faults. These minor tweaks could go a long way. Maybe Scott will be better.

So does this chart say we threw a total of 8 times down field all year?
