That's not going to happen. Lol. No one is going to have that kind of power. What Haslam and Anderson want, they get. End of story.
Not having an AD has zero impact on Butch recruiting or hiring assistant coaches.
Here's my point: if this thing goes another two or three months, but the end result is a Blackburn or Fulmer hire, what is the gripe? That it took so long? Sure. But all that will die down quickly.
They don't believe athletics makes a university great. I promise you, the vast majority of the thousands of professors and administrators I worked with when I was in that industry ranged from neutral to outright hatred of the athletic programs. They resent that someone who coaches a silly game makes 10 times what one of the worldwide experts in early childhood education makes (for instance)
. And at almost every school, athletics takes away from academics as far as money goes (even at UT now, the AD isn't giving money to the school), so the culture in academia is not friendly toward athletics.
Bama isn't cranking out genius students or making breakthroughs in anything but sports. Most academicians think that's a bad thing.
The way you set up this statement, it is hard for me to tell if you are agreeing with me or not-- although you are making the same point as me.
I think having no AD has 0 impact on making assistant coach hires. I think it had some-- although limited-- impact on our ability to hire an OC. I think some teams have tried to use us not having an AD as further proof that Butch is on borrowed time when negative recruiting. The recruits don't inherently care about the AD situation though.
It's only a big deal Bc you and volnation are in the unknown. which imo, is a good thing Bc it shows that powers that be are finally figuring out how to stop leaks. Like I've said earlier multiple memos were sent out to university employees about confidentially and media policy etc thanks to Haney.
THeres nothing that is being negatively affected Bc of this search.
Here's my thing: I think it's pretty obvious they're forcing Hart out. Seems likely to me they've come to some sort of an agreement and they're fine with taking their time and allowing him to continue to call the shots for the time being.
I get that this thing has taken a while and that's kind of annoying, but the freak out over it seems a little unwarranted to me. If Butch were to, you know, take a job somewhere else out of the blue or something crazy, we've got an AD in place to make a hire. It's not like we'd miss out on anything because we'd have to Scramble to hire an AD first
I absolutely disagree. Just because a person is 17 doesn't mean they can't recognize gross incompetence, or worse deliberate corruption. As a matter of fact you could say it would indicate a extreme lack of situational awareness or intelligence for a 16-17 year old to not recognize it she they see it. If a ref is bent, or just incompetent, he deserves absolutely no respect. They should be held to the highest standard.
Nothing to see here...move along.
I do think there is an over obsession with the AD situation on this board. It's almost like the administration has personally wronged people here with this.
I recognize I can literally do nothing to fix the situation, so I'll just continue on with my life until a hire is made.
That is likely true. I am sure that there are administrators and professors at UT who do appreciate and enjoy athletics. The rest need to open their eyes. Attendance is up at schools who are excelling at athletics. They can also generate a great amount of revenue that does not go only to athletics.

The article posted earlier made it seem like the AD situation was having an effect on the assistant hiring process.
I recognize there is a total leadership vacuum in this whole situation. I also recognize the futility in b******* about it constantly.
