Here's my thing: I think it's pretty obvious they're forcing Hart out. Seems likely to me they've come to some sort of an agreement and they're fine with taking their time and allowing him to continue to call the shots for the time being.
I get that this thing has taken a while and that's kind of annoying, but the freak out over it seems a little unwarranted to me. If Butch were to, you know, take a job somewhere else out of the blue or something crazy, we've got an AD in place to make a hire. It's not like we'd miss out on anything because we'd have to Scramble to hire an AD first

I do think there is an over obsession with the AD situation on this board. It's almost like the administration has personally wronged people here with this.
I recognize I can literally do nothing to fix the situation, so I'll just continue on with my life until a hire is made.

Totally agree. People are acting like Neyland is literally crumbling down because we don't have a future AD hired right now. It isn't affecting any daily operations what so ever in any sport. The vol-mob brings out their pitch forks at the drop of a hat.
I absolutely disagree. Just because a person is 17 doesn't mean they can't recognize gross incompetence, or worse deliberate corruption. As a matter of fact you could say it would indicate a extreme lack of situational awareness or intelligence for a 16-17 year old to not recognize it she they see it. If a ref is bent, or just incompetent, he deserves absolutely no respect. They should be held to the highest standard.

Kids can recognize gross incompetence but often don't have the emotional control to set about pointing it out in a grownup way when they are 16-18 years old. I didn't. Shoot, I still probably lose my cool too often for my age. When we feel wronged we want to let the wronger know that we know and they need to stop. It is a shame that refs are so blatant in their bias. They are supposed to be professionals and shouldn't have to have kids calling them out for their gross incompetence.
Yup, that is the stance I have taken on it now. Earlier, I was also freaking out a bit, but I have learned to just let it be as it seems Butch is doing pretty well by his self with hires this cycle.
Of course, there is also the fact that I am not supposed to speak maliciously about/ disparage UT Athletics any more.
That situation likely doesn't play out, but why would you want Hart, on his way out, making that kind of hire?
That's fair, I guess. But like you said it's unlikely to happen. And more likely even in that scenario, the boosters make the call on who to hire. I think what's been proven is that, at least at Tennessee, the boosters make all the calls and the AD is a fundraiser/face of the operation.
Totally disagree. It amazes me how people like you cannot see why this is a big deal.
