Oh I saw them and their all conference CBs. Like I said the talent for him is here. We'll see if he can pull it out of them. Especially #8, dude has ridiculous upside.

He will have to quit getting kicked out of practice and scrimmages in order to improve.

officiating is as bad as ive ever seen in football. Thats why everyone is disrespectful to refs now. These guys all around CFB and the NFL are horrendous. You see it week in week out.

The University of Tennessee....

Can't run its own Hall of Fame.
Can't settle a lawsuit without it first becoming a national embarrassment.
Can't grow grass in our football stadium.
Wants people to call others Zher or Zhim
Wants people to refrain from saying Merry Christmas
Stripped the "lady" moniker from all of our women's teams except one.

99% of our wounds are self inflicted. And this goes to show you that sometimes the richest and most educated people on the planet are still people who can screw up a one car funeral. These idiots can't get out of their own way.

I just think there's too many "judgement" rules now in football. Like targeting, the pick plays, what is or isn't unsportsmanlike conduct, hitting the QB low, "blow to the head on QB" etc.

There's so many rules that are either hard to draw the line or just completely pointless.

Preach. When people have positions that really should not be positions, people tend to screw with things just to justify there position, therefore screwing up said position.

Thanks to our stupid boosters not agreeing on anything and letting this much time pass in this AD search- I am prepared to hear that the Cincinnati AD will be the choice. Davenport is now getting involved and even LWS said this could happen last night after being confident for weeks that Blackburn will be hired. SBV any updates? I hate UT admin, boosters and leadership- we fans do not deserve this. No other major school screws important hires like UT. Sick of it!

Hubbs comment in Sterling thread makes me think it's RB and DL or bust in terms of finishing this class.

I don't think we take another WR. The ones we are bringing into visit are in case one of Fant or Murphy don't look like they will qualify.

I could see us taking Payton over Fant if that is the case.

Watching games like the VOls/Ole Miss, it becomes our civic duty to disrespect corruption.

It was bad, but no worse than most basketball games, especially in the SEC. I really think they're just incompetent more than corrupt. Crowd gets to them too easily, they want to be noticed, lots of different reasons could be the cause. My biggest problem is good defense usually means nothing in college basketball, a guy lowers his shoulder and plows through you, he still gets the call because you flinched your hips a little before he cracks your ribs with his shoulder or elbow.

UT makes life more difficult for Butch | Shopper-News

David Blackburn should have been introduced already. So ridiculous.

There was a time Butch and I thought we knew the next athletic director would be David Blackburn, Vol for life, very successful as recent leader of athletics at UT-Chattanooga. He seemed so obvious. He is 50. He has the ideal background. He has experience. He knows everybody who matters, big donors, politicians, thousands of fans. DiPietro is already his top boss.

David, son of a high school coach, was born in Loudon. He played quarterback there. He enrolled at UT and learned a lot as student manager for John Majors’ teams in 1988-89. He went to Morristown to be a coach. Phillip Fulmer invited him back for an administrative role in recruiting and compliance and a few dozen other things.

Doug Dickey saw greater potential and promoted Blackburn. Through the years, he looked after facilities, fundraising and event management. Because he could read and write, he evolved into the athletic department connection to the Thornton Center and academics. He participated in coaching searches. He became a senior associate AD under Mike Hamilton. He was a big help in dealing with the NCAA during a time of crisis, the Bruce Pearl and Lane Kiffin era.

If winning matters, it appears Blackburn and Chattanooga have excelled. Last year UT-C became the first school in a hundred years to win Southern Conference titles in football and men’s and women’s basketball.

Maybe I shouldn’t mention that the basketball Mocs defeated the Vols in the opener of this season.

Maybe I shouldn’t mention that Blackburn is Tennessee through and through. He is not from Florida or Alabama or even Cincinnati, from whence cometh Dr. Davenport and, before that, Coach Jones.
