Mike Mayock likes Alvin Kamara.....

If these guys come anywhere close to meeting D4H's lofty predictions, then Butch Jones is both the best recruiter and absolute worst actual coach in the history of college football.

I've said this for a while now. Butch Jones is probably the best evaluator out there when it comes to identifying talent. Remember he somehow found Antonio Brown and JJ Watt as 2-stars while he was at Central Michigan. But then again he's also the absolute worst coach at utilizing that talent. The fact it took injuries or guys quitting for Dobbs and Kamara to see the field in their careers just shows how poor of an actual coach he is. Plus we all know how bad he is at game management.

Until he turns over all control in terms of the actual coaching of the game and sticks to recruiting, evaluating, and motivating kids, he'll continue to fail here. He needs to understand his strengths and weaknesses. Unfortunately he's too hard-headed to see it.

D4H has like fifteen dudes going to the hall from this draft class.

Not 15. Probably 5-6. Right now I have Myles Garrett, Solomon Thomas, Corey Davis, Cam Sutton, and Alvin Kamara as the guys with the most hall of fame potential.

The 2017 NFL Draft will ultimately go down as one of the best in history. Its absolutely loaded with elite talent.

After watching some more film on Joe Mixon today, I gotta say Leonard Fournette has now fallen to #3 in my rankings of draft eligible RBs for the 2017 Draft. Mixon is really impressive. He's actually closer to 1b to Alvin's 1a than he is at #2 right now.

Phenomenal talent. Someone will draft him later than he should because of the off-field issues. But they will land an absolutely insane pro-bowl caliber RB. Kid reminds me of Fred Taylor (former Jaguars RB).

So many great players in this class that my top 10-20 is constantly changing. Here is what I got right now:

D4H's Top 20 Prospects in the 2017 NFL Draft
1. DE Myles Garrett (Texas A&M)
2. DL Solomon Thomas (Stanford)
3. CB Cam Sutton (Tennessee)
4. WR Corey Davis (Western Michigan)
5. RB Alvin Kamara (Tennessee)
6. RB Joe Mixon (Oklahoma)
7. QB Joshua Dobbs (Tennessee)
8. QB Brad Kaaya (Miami)
9. CB Jourdan Lewis (Michigan)
10. DE Charles Harris (Missouri)
11. DT Caleb Brantley (Florida)
12. S Eddie Jackson (Alabama)
13. CB Marlon Humphrey (Alabama)
14. TE Evan Engram (Ole Miss)
15. RB Leonard Fournette (LSU)
16. DL Malik McDowell (Michigan State)
17. S Jamal Adams (LSU)
18. LB Jarrad Davis (Florida)
19. CB Teez Tabor (Florida)
20. DE Derek Barnett (Tennessee)

You amaze me.

Seconded.

I know down hill running and power plays are not where football is right now but hurd must feel like a turd.......

He certainly would have been drafted and made some guaranteed cash..... hate it for a TN kid I followed all the way from high school.

I wouldn't say he's "failing".

But he is leaving a lot on the table for sure.

I agree with pretty much everything you just said though.

Just a little FYI, Cam sutton will most likely move to safety in the NFL...Well thats if hes smart and wants to play in the NFL for a while

Butch rode Worley bird till his arm fell off. Dobbs - to be fair- just wasn't very accurate.

But,... We probably don't get to a bowl game if Worely stayed healthy

Kamara definitely should have been playing over Jalen. But we did use Alvin quite a bit anyway.

Nice. He really is another WR on the field.

The way Green Bay is using Ty Montgomery is creating some new wrinkles to have to defend.

It would be nice to have 4 Vols drafted in the 1st 3 rounds

Thats what im guessing.
Barnett 1st
Kamara 2nd
Malone
Sutton 3rd

Why? If he's cleared medically, I don't think it's far-fetched he could be drafted by the end of the 4th round.

I missed read it. i thought you said drafted in the first round. I can see him drafted 4th or 5th round but with his shoulder issue it wouldn't surprise me if he just got picked up in free agency

I forget if it was Mel Kipers or that other guy but JRM is a top 5-6 Outside Linebacker on all their charts. Obviously that doesn't mean they'll be drafted in order but if he can run sideline to sideline against all these passing offenses now a days.

Daniel Jeremiah has Kamara ranked as his #26 overall prospect. He's the 4th running back on the list behind Fournette, Cook and Mccaffrey.

LOL @ safety?

Watch Cam Sutton climb right back into the 1st round discussion after a dominant week at the senior bowl.

He's the best CB to enter the NFL since Darrelle Revis in 2007.
