I'll say another thing about CPF becoming AD- it's about damn time we had someone who doesn't bend over for the SEC and other programs.

And from a booster perspective he is fantastic.

The entire state and conference, except for alabama respect him.

It is a terrific hire. I never thought it was actually possible but like i said they got this right.

- Getting the Big money boosters align will increase our bagman potential :)
- He knows the problems the lack of administrative support caused and it will be one of us first tests to address it. His relationship with the Chancellor Davenport will be a harbinger of rectifying the issues.
- First major decision may be CBJ if he doesn't win the SEC East in 2017
- Doug Matthews info will be golden given his close relationship with PF.

Overall, may not be the best person but definitely not the worst one to put into the position. Hopefully it turns out well for ALL the UTAD programs and teams.

CBJ better get it right this year or Fulmer will be bringing in Cutcliff or Tee Martin to coach the Vols next year............

Fulmer has been very vocal on his support for Butch.

That would be last thing I'd worry about if he were hired as AD

Why would Roger Goodell say he is from Bama when he was there for his freshman year, in which he redshirted, and then transferred to another junior college. Then came to Tennessee where he actually played. He never even took a snap at Bama.

I think he'll look good in all those highlights they show of him in Orange. :)

Would not be surprised in the least to see him as the 3rd RB taken.

Probably in a couple of years when Fulmer retires that he'll not even consider the job if approached.

I just don't get it, why hire a short-term AD when you could hire a qualified "lifer" who would be in place for many years?

Of course he has been vocal of his support. Doesn't mean he gives him free passes AD's love to put their stamps on the program they run and the only way they can do that is obviously raising and making the school money,running the AD department the way it should and hiring "HIS" people in all sports. What AD wants to take the coaching abuse from everyone on hires he didn't even make! I dont think Butch would hire Cut but if Tee continues to see his stock rise and is ready to become a HC then I could definitely see that become a possibility.He definitely could be busy making hires the next few yrs if Women's Hoops,Baseball and Football do not improve. I really thought Serrano would have done better things here. Warlick I was never a fan of but she had Pat's support so I was good with the hire. But it's obvious she can't get it done. Butch has to know this is a critical year for him. If he loses to say UF,GA,LSU and Ala then throw in his ability to lose to atleast one team he shouldn't or some cases 2 then 7-5 or 6-6 then I see little chance he gets another yr. JMO

I got so tired of hearing that crap. They loved to make it sound like UT was taking the gumps leftovers. AK is a VOL and that's the bottom line....

It just has a feeling of a hire that can be controlled. Maybe I'm way off base.

It just seems like Blackburn made a lot more sense.
