Stay away from the FF. I went over there and made the mistake of commenting. Feel like I need a shower. Can't believe the vitriol being spewed over there. This may not be as good of a hire as Blackburn, who knows, but Fulmer will do a good job imo.

Those are all things that make for a good AD. Blackburn would be good for many of the same reasons so why it's ignored in Fulmer is just crazy to me.

Hopefully he won't run basketball into the ground like Dickey.

I went to the FF as well. That's a different breed over there. All I can say about Fulmer is that he did win a National Championship and he loves Tennessee athletics. I think he will do fine.

Imagine what would happen to them if Fulmer insisted on becoming co-HC and co-OC with Butch in addition to being the AD, and then Butch and Fulmer could both micro-manage each other.

I am happy with Fulmer. I just know he won't let Bama upstage us. The best of the best, whatever it takes.

Amen. There's no greater commitment we could get from someone else. The man truly loves UT and will do everything in his power to see us succeed and from a coach's perspective he knows a lot of what our coaches need from their AD to help their teams succeed. He knows what Dickey did for him and can pass that on. I think he could really do well in this role.

I had my heart set on Blackburn but Phil will do as good, maybe even a better job than Blackburn. The only disadvantage is that he's older. I hope that if Fulmer is tapped for AD that Blackburn doesn't give up on us. I don't think Fulmer will stay an outrageous amount of time and Blackburn would make one helluva successor with even more experience than he has now. And if Fulmer taps him for that role it will be hard for even the idiot bigwigs to ignore.

I don't agree with the first sentence at all. At all. Devoe got passed by, but the continued negligence toward UT basketball was all Dickey.

And I heard that Fulmer was a bit jealous of Pearl more than once. Second and third hand, though.
