What round will Josh Dobbs get drafted in, if at all?

The success that DP has had with Dallas may increase the value of a player like JD. If I were a NFL GM or Scout I would be tight lipped about any interest I may have in JD. If the hype gets high it may cause a team to take him earlier than we think. Most teams will keep their interest in him under the radar in hopes of picking him up in a later round. I believe that his combine showing will determine just how early he is picked. If he shows out, there will most likely be a lot of hype and talk about him with people comparing it to the success DP has had at Dallas. That being said, I do not believe any team will burn a second round pick for him unless they acquire some sort of trade deal that gives them a couple of extra second round picks. MHO..... 3rd round (if he has a good combine showing)

My prediction is the Jets in the 2nd round. They seemingly take a QB every year in that round.

Don't understand why you don't still have Josh going first round. After the year he had, by far his best at Tennessee, I'd think you'd stand behind that prediction even stronger. Why 2nd round now?....other than the professionals who evaluate and draft players for a living are just idiots.

I hope both Josh Dobbs and Derek Barnett play for the Titans unless they can be guaranteed by Cleveland to be starters their first year. Plenty of performance bonus incentives in the contracts.

It would be interesting to see him progress if he got picked up by someone like the Seahawks and learned behind Russell Wilson for a few years.

Nothing against Dobbs, but if the Titans take a QB in round 4, I'll burn Nissan Stadium down.

There you have it. I only predicated Dobbs would be a first round pick last year because I thought we would be having the success Clemson had this year and Dobbs would ride the same hype that Deshaun Watson is on right now.

NFL GMs aren't smart enough to spot a talent like Dobbs. Just look at how badly they missed on guys like Dak Prescott, Russell Wilson, and Tom Brady.

IMO Dobbs will get drafted mid to late rounds, not in the first three. The NFL is slowly but surely seeing the successes of Wilson, Newton, Prescott, Mariota, and Luck to name a few who have legs and can use them if in the correct offense with a good OC. I think the future of a Brady, Manning, Stabler, Unitas type straight drop back QB are coming to an end. It is the end of an era. Therefore IMO somebody drafts Dobbs as he has many of the skills the good ones do. He has accuracy issues compared to the good ones which is why I see no one drafting him in the first three rounds.

Being mobile is a wonderful asset but job #1 for an NFL qb is still accurate and timely passing and the league's top passers reflect this fact.

In truth this is mostly a function of how rare it is to be a genuinely proficient passing qb AND that good at running.

Oh yeah, the GMs aren't smart enough, they're all idiots.....but you on the other hand.

And where did YOU have Dak going last year? Got any proof of you saying he should've been a first round pick? I'm guessing you "missed" on him too.

Correct. Being mobile is a tertiary skill required to be an effective NFL qb.... its cherry on top stuff. It's still most important to be accurate in tight windows and be able to know where to go quickly with the ball.

Its not my job to evaluate NFL prospects. Its theirs.

Their track record is abysmal. That was all I was highlighting.

So let me get this straight....you constantly, continually boast about how smart you are in evaluating and projecting players, while saying NFL scouts and GMs are idiots and don't know what they're doing....one example being, as you gave, is Dak Prescott.

But now that it's pointed out that you didn't "evaluate" him any better and missed on him too, it's suddenly "not your job"......

So how did such a great talent evaluater as yourself give us this after Dallas drafted Prescott?

Come on Cowboys. Dak Prescott? Really??? Kevin Hogan woulda been a much better choice at QB.

Right now i'm thinking 6th or 7th round, if at all. If he impresses at senior bowl and with measurables, then maybe late 4th round

I never evaluated or projected Dak Prescott. I have my favorites every year around draft time as well as those who I find overrated. I spoke about them at length last year around draft time. I'll do the same once again this year.

What I don't have time to do is to evaluate every single prospect coming out. Its their job. And I'll call them out on it when they miss. Cause its their job. What I do is just a hobby. And I'm betting I'm right on players more than they are which is sad.
