Administration invested in winning at the highest level.

I'm about to the point with the Tennessee Vols as I was with the Tennessee Titans. Until the adminstration and leaders figure out what it takes or until we have new leadership then there is really no point in even caring about what happens at a sub level.

It means Bama wants to win where it counts. We are interested in having swimming pools and rowing teams and fancy new buildings with booster names on them.

Sorry for firing off. There was a time when such things were a feather in the cap of an athletic department. The Tom Black Track was state of the art in 1968 or so and the strong track program, for instance, benefited football. As for a culture of athletic excellence same argument could be made around swimming. Not sure rowing is germane to a culture of athletic performance however.

It is interesting that Bama brought a a football guy steeped in the SEC with the Battle hire. And this is what the Vols had with Dickey. I guess all this drama with the new leadership on the Hill distracts from the Football program being the bell-weather, which I suppose is your point.

The ankle biting this year seems intense. I appreciate the hunger for victory. It's easy to be the critic. Hope all the dissatisfaction doesn't undermine a program at a cross-road.
