Secret Negas

What's your prediction for next year then? How great do you think we'll be? Are we going to Atlanta? Are we beating UF or AL? What about UGA?

How bad does Lyle need to screw the pooch for you to think we need to fire his worthless ass?

Aha - a clear TROLL appears - good work guys. Nice work!!!! Here clearly is the epitome of a miserable piece or work.

Prediction is this: Regular season - 10 - 2 lose to Alabama and KY win the rest. Real meltdown after KY game and several Negas on suicide watch. Vols win East at 6-2 with tie breaker over Georgia.

Win rematch with Bama in SEC Champ game. Shoop Magic Show creates 21 points off turnovers.

Not confident beyond that game in the playoffs but 11-3 will be a strong performance. Florida not worried about as defense falls apart. Georgia we need to hit and then hit some more.

Ga Tech need to have a few walkon hatchet men ready to aim for knees at risk of getting banned if they start the chopblocks. Shoop has time to work some maximum confusion for their rookie qb.

I don't remember the comment, but I'm sorry for suggesting that. I try not to act like I know what people I've never met are thinking, and I agree that it isn't in any way productive.

I honestly don't think I'm superior to anyone here, though I'm sure I sometimes act like it. I regret those times.

Side note, this is why I hate the "Junior"/"kiddo"/"you hate UT"-type stuff. Regarding some other poster on a message board, I don't know what type of father/mother or friend or person they are. I don't know what their values are. Trying to guess them and pretend like I know is a fool's errand IMO

I think most want to see progress and without question we've seen progress. I know some will cry "sniff sniff we had the same record this year as last year". That's true and I will argue that finishing 9-4 with the tremendous amount of injuries is proof of improvement. That many injuries in previous years would've meant a much worse season.
The whiners refuse to admit progress. That's the real difference.

My heart just skipped a beat imagining previous seasons with our current injury level. This seasons injuries + Dooley at the helm...cold chills.

If this conversation was in person and ended with this post, I would pick up your bar tab, shake your hand, go home and "play with baby's momma" and call it a good day.

Huh?

Timing is the debate. Not what to do.

We all know what to do, it's the when and the who's that we can't agree on.

Hire a sleeze ball and fire him as soon as we get put on probation or he crashes his motorbike with his girlfriend on the back of it.

Hire a class act and fire him as soon as his ceiling is established lower than an acceptable level.

Hire a VFL and hold on as long as we can, knowing he has the Vol's best in mind. At some point if he stops producing, see ya.

What is a fair shake so all the hiring and firing doesn't run off the top 2 or 3 candidates each year?

The 1st sign of leveling off below desired result?

Any loss to an inferior rival? Only after 2nd year? Or is it after 3rd year?

Just back the Brinks truck up to the house of who you want and hire him no matter what it costs?

At some point good will towards any coach dwindles away when expectations aren't met.

How quick we move from one coach to the next is the debate. Some metrics can be set, while other have gray areas that change from year to year based on how long the coach is in place(year 1 is graded different from year 2 and 3 and so on).

The contract of the previous coach should be the staring point for the next coach. Don't go cheap.

Money wasn't the reason coaches turned us down last time. The state of the program was at such a historical low point.

The soap opera going on in this thread is hilarious. Might as well be..."Your mama is so fat... oh yeah, well your mama is so stupid"

Nothing like a good Sunshine pumper vs Negavol debate.
My bad, everybody here is open minded and realistic fans. lol

That's the dumbest thing I've seen in a long time. You mean we've built a team? Duh...
What the hell do you think is SUPPOSED to happen?
Good Lord.

It's why the 'trend' argument was always stupid. It's as though some simpletons actually believed the two game improvement was going to continue right up to 15-0. Nope. This is what we were building to. We aren't far away from Butch babbling about how many players are making their first road trip again.

Surely were done with that speech.

I do expect to hear a lot about a green QB, regardless of who it is. I wonder if Saban came into this season ready to use the freshman QB excuse.

You're lack of knowledge of football is only surpassed by your lack of common sense.

Who the hell do you think we were going to be playing when we started with no players good enough to get drafted the past couple years? That's the definition of a bare cabinet.
As players graduate or leave early others play. I know right? What a concept...

But your attempts to act like you know what you're talking about is entertaining. So thanks for the laughs.

Watch his early pressers. He spoke about it extensively. And he actually started someone not named Hurts. But hey, don't let facts bug you.

In my experience, the people that "know a lot about football" don't have to constantly talk about how much they know or how little other people know.

Well good for you.

In my experience when people say a team who rebuilt from historic lows hasn't shown improvement because they're playing the JR and SR's they used to rebuild the program deserve to be made fun of.

The point, which everyone but you seems to understand, is that the increase in wins was directly related to the team getting older and returning almost all key contributors each year. That's no longer going to be the case.

His job performance to date leaves little reason to think things will get better. He will either have to recruit better or coach better. More likely, he will do neither and get fired.

LOL you mean build a team? Duh...
Holy cow the dumb is strong in some.

What if, hypothetical of course, this was as good as Tennessee is going to get. Top 20 recruiting classes, top 25 finishes, 8,9wins a year and we get rid of CBJ and bring in what we think is a splash coach but the results are the same. What would the fan reaction be?
Same as the last 30 odd years....oh well, maybe next year ! Our mediocre results go back a long way(to the 70's for me) and will continue until the BoT and other higher ups scream uncle.

You're not even countering my point. You're just calling me dumb because you're struggling with a simple point that everyone else is grasping.

It's called building a team. Guess what (I'm sure this will surprise you) most teams play JR's and SR's.

Me: The improvement has been tied to factors which will no longer apply (at least not to this extent) going forward.
You: HAHA Build a team you're dumb!
