Secret Negas

Your first accusation is completely backwards. Negas don't question the fanhood of fellow Vols with different opinions than theirs, pumpers do. If fact, it's their favorite hobby.

It's a flip. Negas want Butch to stay and Pumpers want Butch fired.

Try to keep up.

Negavols is just asinine in itself

Its more like Negabutch or NegaBSIA

Negavol is a generic term used to describe a poster that posts anything that is not an encouragement to others.

I'm one of the most realistic down to earth posters and was called a Negavol for encouraging Vol fans to wear Orange to the game.

16-1

Jump higher Vols.

2017 the year of the Vols!

So tired of all the polarizing opinions regurgitated over and over. Thought bowl game win may at least drive more optimistic dialog, but that didn't happen. Why can't we discuss topics about next year depth, prime needs, most important positions to replenish on depth chart in recruiting, are we ok keeping same offense with new OC, etc, etc. Going to be a LONG off season. VN will need collective therapy by the time season rolls around.

I can't fault anybody who's given up on CBJ but the one's campaigning for other people to pull their support/pull their $$ in order to speed up the exit just need to shut it.

I'm in the "he's my coach until he's not category" - a kind of purgatory, but there it is.

I've never seen someone question a poster's military service. If they did, they would probably earn their first ignore from me.

I've never seen service per se called into question.

What I've seen is negative reaction to someone who appears to be claiming e-cred for their service.

That gets pounced on immediately, frequently by others who have served or are currently serving.

I don't think Butch is the greatest. He is very flawed. His love for his program though reminds me of Dabo taking over Clemson. I don't think Dabo is the greatest either but knows his flaws and knew he needed upgrading for them. But I pray Butch upgrades his staff to make Tennessee one of the greatest....just as Dabo has done. If that makes me a sunshine pumper because I'm wanting the greater good now...then so be it.

So you're saying you're above all this?

QB play will be critical along with Dline.

I'm fine with the idea of our offense, but it lends itself to be slow starting by running test plays to see how the defense will react.

It will be a long off season.

I don't believe in group therapy.

There is a gulf between what Negas expect, and what Posivols are willing to accept. Therein lies the friction.

You confuse the coach with the team. You're being positive about Butch, but are you being positive about the Vols? Should Butch prove himself to be a substandard coach, a coach unable to elevate us to the next level, does he deserve our support? When do you decide our players, the true Volunteers, deserve better?

And the only reason you see some posters continue to decry Butch's shortcomings is because some continue to sing his praises, as if he's one of the greatest of all time. Imagine, as annoyed as you get about what you term "nega-vols", some posters get by what they refer to as the "sunshine pumpers".

Maybe you should take a look at the way you start the third sentence in this post. Since you started it by saying Should butch, you are admitting you don't know whether he will fail or not and neither does anyone else on here. In the meantime why not support the team you say you love instead of whining after every game about some portion of the game, I think that is what a fan is supposed to do!

After that why don't you ask yourself, did I really need to initiate another thread for this subject?

You cannot support the team without supporting Butch. If you support Butch you care more about him than Tennessee football, and that's wrong. Keep up.

All of this is pointless for the most part anyway.
It was made very clear that that your opinion, positive or negative, only matters if you are a season ticket holder.

We all want the same result( stack NCs), the friction is how to achieve said results.

I would like to believe that, but there is ample evidence that some people are OK with "respectable" seasons. 8-4 and a bowl win is peachy with some folks.

It is fantastic to have very high expectations. We all should, this program can deliver results when firing on all cylinders. It just goes off the rails when we fail to meet lofty goals and people lash out at the program from every angle.

Anyway, it makes for an entertaining board. GBO!

I think most want to see progress and without question we've seen progress. I know some will cry "sniff sniff we had the same record this year as last year". That's true and I will argue that finishing 9-4 with the tremendous amount of injuries is proof of improvement. That many injuries in previous years would've meant a much worse season.
The whiners refuse to admit progress. That's the real difference.

It's not a secret that the *****ing and moaning is getting old.

Both sides make good points. Then the stupid little digs start, then the name calling and the inevitable redundancy begins.

Most everyone here is guilty of some of it. Including me, the logical one.:)

"The same record is progress because the previous year would have been worse with the same injuries"

You realize that's a bit of a stretch, right? And that it's pretty whiny to call everyone names just because they don't buy your debatable argument?
